@crimson basin when it loads up and blackscreens or gets to BI logo, after a couple minutes, just hit the "Escape" key, and you should be fine. It will escape to the main menu.
When I launch with RHS it does the same thing to me.

🤔 Arma shouldn't tell you the name of the network packets... Something with AI commands.
You need a BI dev for that. Open a bug report on the #arma3_feedback_tracker
But if you can't reliably reproduce that you don't really have to bother.
hi there! ive been playing this game for a couple days now and i really love it! but...i logged on yesterday and i play king of hill most of the time and my account was reset from like 30 something to lv1...all my guns i bought...my money just gone...is there a way for admins to give me back my account to where it was? id hate to start from scratch.

Hey guys, I am currently using filebank to pack pbo's automatically on my server, ever since I used filebank or makepbo to pack my server side addons the rpt logs that the post and pre init scripts for the addons cannot be found, is this a known issue with filebank/makepbo and how can I get around it?
sounds like you are missing the pboprefix
@quaint jewel Thanks a bunch! I switched back to makepbo and added the pboprefix.txt to all of my addons with the respective filename and boom, it worked!

This worked for me
1.Go to your Steam folder open SteamApps, common, and then ARMA3
2.Delete the four file with ''PhysX3'' in the name and delete the "DLL" folder.
3.Then in Steam right click on your ARMA3, click properties and than choose Verify Integrity Of Game Cache.

ok longest ten minute wait of my life up, so: I'm trying to edit the full map version of Warlords on Altis so that logged in admins can use the debug console so my friends and I can screw around with artillery and what have you
I've enabled the console by editing the mission in the eden editor and uploaded it to the mpmission folder on armahosts, but it's not actually showing up in the selection menu
it shows up when i try to host locally though
i'm guessing because it needs some required files other than the .sqm?

Yeah the weird part is it only started happening in the last 24 hours and I checked to see if any of the mods updated but it looks like no. I ran steams verify files. And ran a repair on all major mods I was using.

3fps bug happens when Arma is out of memory. Either memory limiting startparameter or just not enough memory free, or Some mod is allocating WAY too much memory

Hi, Need help figuring out a problem. All roles on our server disappear when we host a local MPmission. I can host the same .pbo locally when I have added the zeus module, but when hosting it on a dedicated server, all roles disappear. Any suggestions?
Definitely sounds like content mismatch
make sure you are only running mods the server has on it
or make sure the units are “playable” in editor

What we believe now is that since we have edited the pack with the jsrs_soundmod_weapons loaded, the server thinks it is a requirement aswell. We are trying without said mod as we speak.
Yeah generally if a mod was used in a mission that isn’t on the server even if it’s client side only sometimes it breaks a mission
When I’m going in to make a mission I usually only turn on mods that absolutely have to be on otherwise it tends to break

@cinder igloo never use -parameters in steam launch commands. Many forums will tell you to do so but it WILL break arma. If you have to run parameters do so in the launcher itself but careful what you select.
Has the method of signing mods changed since the 1.88 hotfix? No matter how I sign a mod the server never recognizes it and just kicks me out with a session lost message.
I've tried signing my mod multiple times and each time always ends up with a session lost screen when joining my server. Not even a "Files are not signed by a key accepted by this server" message.
The server console states the correct message but the player never gets it.

@fringe salmon one of the missions you downloaded from steam has in include ithe Description.exe look in your arma 3 profile or other profiles for the mission that has it and delete it .
Create new soldier, this should make new clean missions storage directory
Hello, I just encountered 2 problems that are driving me crazy... my scroll wheel options looks like if its not towards the far upper left corner like it should be. Its a little left of the middle of the screen...the rest of the game looks fine...but the scroll wheel action is off... Im a pilot in Arma, so when I get inside helicopters, I open my navigations GPS on the right side of my screen which is also off towards the middle right almost in the middle of the screen... i've already tried going through different resolutions and screen sizes on the menu and got nothing. I also tried going to layouts and moving them, unfortunately the mini map and sling load sensors cannot be moved or sized.

Next idea would be creating a new profile ingame. The layout settings are stored in your profile variables
Now that u say that... I had deleted my old profile that was "Normal" to update the name and it resulted in making a new profile....lost my milsim unit loadouts and everything. And thats when I noticed this issue today. I tried messing with different screen options and sizes in the game settings to see if I could at least "stretch it" back to where its supposed to be and had no luck
So you suggest to make a new profile to see if settings to back to default n go from there?

the "import" option for importing a mod list is greyed out for me
unloading all the mods doesn't do anything, importing a mod list from the "More" tab only subscribes to mods in an html mod list file, instead of importing them

@keen sable Context beyond an Import button would be nice, considering I'm looking at an entirely different import button.
there's two import buttons, one under "More" where you can export mod lists and import them, then the second import button is under "presets" at the top right
in that screenshot, it's the second import button within the preset menu
the difference is, the "More" import button just seems to subscribe to mods in an html file, not load them
whereas the second import button under "Presets" loads mods directly from an HTML file, as if it were just a normal preset
which I can't do, since it's greyed out, so I can only subscribe to mods from an exported HTML file and not create that file as a preset

so we've got a guy on the ARMAnet Discord, whenever he tries to join servers gets no error message but the Red Chain, he's tried with the firewall on and off. Buckfast and myself thought that it sounded like a BattleEye ban but he's extremely vague on if or what BattleEye problems he's had before.

Hi guys, having an issue with battleeye not starting, meaning I can't get on my server. Windows pops up with a permissions message but all files have the required permissions. Have unsintalled and reinstalled battle eye to no avail, and the obligatory steam validation. Any fixes?

Hello new to Arma 3 here, I am experiencing an odd audio bug when driving vehicles across roads even with no mods.
I get a popping sound in the left channel of my headphones when driving every few seconds. Doesn't seem to happen with tanks, or any other kinds of vehicles. Very jarring and annoying over prolonged periods. Any thoughts?
Testing I have found it doesn't seem to occur on all kinds of roads or off-road. Haven't tested enough to 100% confirm just yet.
USB headset and Windows 10?
No idea what that is but if it uses USB, is audio related and runs on win 10 it can have problems with Arma3

Hi, not sure if right channel but I have problem with lovely seagulls. From few months when someone lost connection/arma crash and he is trying to join back he always spawn as seagull even if slot is alive, when he choose slot with Ai switched off(some additional slots) he spawns without problem. We are playing on dedicated server, mods: ace, CBA, RHS, cup, niarms. Anyone encounter this past few months?

Recently i decided to get into Map making, and i thought id try to make a map for Arma, ive set up the p drive, bulldozer, terrain files , all the fancy stuff, everything works except for a single important thing.
Once im in Terrain editor and i want to import some dePBO'd objects in, they either A) appear textureless B) dont appear at all C) only the little arrow appears.
ive been looking for someone with the same issue yet i didnt find anyone except my friend who wanted to help me out with making the map (although for him, it suddenly started to work out of the bloom one day)
any ideas of what could be the issue?

well, buldozer wont seem to launch from OB, it loads actual arma and gets stuck in an infinite loading loop

@fringe salmon try recording the same with my profiler with instruction and engine profiling enabled.
@fringe salmon i just count groups. 75 with stuff i spawned as zeus ~80 (all sides, if i understand correctly) with players side as blufor which had only 1 group
Getting Arma3 to run on Win 10 is a nightmare and I wonder if a lot of members here deciding to install it on a Win 8.1 rig

got a friend with the issue and its something i have never seen
Ran into a recent bug where I am unable to see myseld, allies or enemies on the map when opening it. The issue started occuring when I downloaded the CSA mod and ran the Marenice terrain.
At first I thought it was just the mod, or maybe IFA3 but disabling both of those and running the game vanilla didn't solve the issue. Completely reinstalling the game doesn't seem to fix this either. Any thoughts or help?

i can't remember a case where updating drivers (GPU, audio, chipsets, whatever) fixed the audio output / CTD issues
After looking further would it be possible to edit or delete map files in the Arma directory and reinstall/verify cache to fix this?
If after uninstalling and reinstalling I still have the same issue of not being able to see my position I can only assume there is either something wrong with my game files or I unknowingly changed a setting that makes me my allies, and enemies invisible on the map.
No before and after installing CSA I did not, I already scrolled through the gameplay difficulty settings but I will fiddle around with that some more to see if anything happens.
I never touched any of my difficulty settings but perhaps something weird happened with them and my solution is that simple.

it shoudl be quite simple to launch the game without mods from the launcher
Finding the one culprit will take some time not loading without mods.
you first try without any mods
so you know if its the base game installation or mod issue
then you start with half your mods
and then if the problem does not occur try with the other half
and keep eliminating the launched mod set until you find what the issue is
and debugging mods always takes time

I'm noticing my FPS decreasing by about 60% when I open the map, zooming in or out causes it to steadily increase. As a result when I use the hud in a mod that uses the map, my FPS tanks... Problem is I kind of need that hud to do ops effectively

Also it could be related to how the mods hud creates the map. Modded extra features can be made poorly or they can just be heavy processes even if made right.

I believe MrBohannon is talking about commands like setVelocity, setting an extremely high velocity in a short time span is going to eat up simulation cycles. Especially with lots of players, because that information has to be given to the clients as well.
The clients might even simulate physics locally, like damage.
Either way, excessive use with any command is going to drive fps down

I've had a small problem these last days in general, but it is magnified when Im playing long arma sessions. all out of nowhere I get freezed, black screen and then static. My PC doesnt turn off, my screen just goes to static and the PC is no longer responsive. I've tried waiting long periods during this to see if it comes back but it has never worked and I've tried waiting for as long as 30 mins. I've checked my hardware and nothing raises any red flags, and all my drivers are up to date. specs are to follow : i5-4690K, Rx480 8GB, 16GB DDR3 (1600MHz), Windows 7 Home Pro. I legit have no Idea what the problem is.

I think that haze is something that comes with the engine and isn't linked to the weather. Saw a mod on the steam workshop recently that removes that distance haze

Well, it looks kind of that haze. But what confuses me is the fact that this cylinder is about 400m in radius around the player and you can see the top and bottom of it at about 50m above and below the player

we had a similar issue that went away when acex was unloaded. Not sure if it was an update issue or not. Either way, when an issue is discovered, the first step is either remove all mods then add them back one by one (testing in between each) OR just remove them one by one (with testing in between).
Or if you know what's happening look into the code and crosscheck if all variables are what they should be. if not then trace back through the code to find how it could've happened.
That way you might also get a bug report out of it

Sometimes a gate is closed to one cliente but the real situation of the gate is it is opened. The client will not be able to open it. Can't Arma 3 deal with gate information as critical so this don't happens? The case is the client don't received the packed opening the gate when another player did that.

No. It is not for a public server...
Indeed it is perfectly reasonable to turn it off on private servers especially when you have other mechanisms to ensure the mods are all in place and up to date. Alas this problem isn't solved by verifySignatures=0 for us
verifySignatures=0 is not a solution it is unsafe and bullshit
So it isn't just a verifySignatures issue unless =2 is being forced or something else like the new security features are getting in the way somehow.
The issue is not even consistent though. One guy with an Epoch server with the Epoch, Enhanced Movement and Extended Base Building for Epoch mods only has this issue. I have a server that includes those mods and it works fine, I have another server that just has two mods that the working one does not have and it does not work... But why does the other guys server fail when my server with those mods work? Does not make much sense

Something has gone badly wrong with the release. Rollback is now working so when BI chooses to look into it and release a hotfix I'll look at it again.
I learnt long ago to check it quickly and bail as soon as the game was obviously broken as a hotfix usually follows a few days later, or an explanation of how to fix it based on what changed. Last time I think was 1.78
This is why more server owners should check their specific setup works on the RC build

There is a reason we always release an RC-Build prior to game updates in which allow everyone to test it out. However if there are issues I will report them to Oukej and the development team 😃 If someone could DM me their concerns/main issues that would be greatly appreciated.

@fading cloak Short summary: On some servers with verifySignatures = 2 users are being kicked with "Session Lost" and this in the logs. Whether this happens does not seem to be related to a particular mod since one server with certain mods does not have this problem and another with a subset of the does...
The build has been RC-tested by several communities, as well as our Q&A department with no sign of any game breaking issues. However issues might have emerged on stable which we did not encounter on RC. I will forward this to Oukej asap

One of our partners believes this sig check issue is caused by multihomed ips

Same error for us @delicate elm sigs to 0 and we are getting in, obviously not a long term fix.

A fix might be turning off home internet for 5 minutes so it breaks the connection between Battleye

On my misbehaving instance I get green ... (well apart from the couple of CUP ones that are normally red without issue
whereas on this server, they aren't green, they aren't coloured at all

Try verifying the integrity of your game files. I'm guessing it's clientside.. none of the codeforgaming servers are working for you, and I noticed they worked for me when I opened it..

further troubleshooting of the "broken" server, posted within my video example shows that no client connection (to BE) was logged
the console log is completely empty, so this whole issue is clientside it seems

Okay @fading cloak So one thing a lot of restarting ARMA on client and server has shown is that for my server having issues, adding the Enhanced Movement mod causes the Session Lost issue. The 🤦 moment is when you consider that the server that works fine also has the Enhanced Movement mod loaded... Will start organizing things soon and send over the RPTs (though they don't really show anything)
And yep, been very careful to add and remove keys as required, and even copied the other ARMA server instance's key for Enhanced Movement over
You could try manually resigning enhanced movement.
I'm fairly sure that one is still on v2 signatures

No need to send RPT, ive got one from Inch and that should be more than enough as youre experiencing the same issue, also doubtful that there is any specific information we'd need from it
Question is for @quaint jewel My server that works has the issue with too many mods - the one that makes Steam unable to work out mods properly. Could that be allowing it to work?

Maybe something related to file count. My first idea was open-file limit, but that's really only a thing on linux (atleast I think that's not a thing on windows? I don't use windows servers)

That doesn't make sense @Dedmen... my server that works has a lot more mods (and open-files) than the one that does not work. Testing new sigs for EM now
New keys for EM did not stop the kick... Just pretty inconsistent at this time. I know of two servers where EM was an issue and three servers including one of mine that have EM and work fine ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, guess I will turn off signature verification on the one that has the issue... oh boy. Not looking forward to that...

Could've been a remnant cache. Even though it's versioned and incompatible ones should be deleted.

Anyway ;)
- Try deleting
cache.chfile (both on client and on the server). Keep in mind that once deleted the game will be regenerating the file and depending on the mod count this can take even minutes. - Make sure you've got matching keys on the server and signatures on the clients for all required or allowed mods. (often these are "versioned" by modmakers, make sure it's matching on both sides)
- Both signatures v2 and v3 are supported. Although I wouldn't be sure about mixing v2 and v3 from one key.
