Yeah, presets is the same as the templates I was talking about.
One of these templates could very well have itself a conflict. Or maybe the template has some keybind unbound, and it carries over what you bound it to previously and that conflicts.
It's no big deal. Sometimes it marks stuff as conflict and it's no problem in game.

What do you mean "does not work"? If two actions conflict, they should just activate both at the same time.

Hey, I have on a server Arma 3 Dedicated Server installed, the server self works fine, but when I wanna load the Altis Life mission as Admin I get a short loading screen and end up in the mission choosing screen again, when I try it as normal player the mission is grey so I can`t vote for it, I have no idea where the issue is. Would be very nice if somebody could help me
Alwas check the rpt files (server and local). If smth went wrong, it's shown in the files

So, what is your mission file name?
The folder in the mpmissions folder is called: Altis_Life.Altis same as in the logs
A dedi server needs a published mission in a .pbo
I had Altis Life 4.4 installed (I guess) before I changed to 5.0 and on the 4.4 version I only had pbo files instead of folders, so I have to switch back right?
No, just put it in a pbo.
Move the mission folder to your editor missions folder, open it up, and export for Multiplayer.
So I just could use PBO Manager, change that folders to pbo datas and it should work

I brought the server to run, but I get kicked vom SpyGlass lmao even if I log in as Admin, but thanks to everybody that helped me it does finally work
Having a problem with an analogue controller (as in Joysticks) where, in playing ArmA, the axis only provides half the expected effect - IE. at 100% right ArmA only reads 50% right, whereas Windows reads 100% right.
Any other inputs binded? If so remove them
Hope this is the right channel. So me and my unit use ALiVE, before we had a server and it would use about 6GB of RAM towards the end of the session, there was about 8GB on it and we played the missions without a single issue. Now that we've switched to a Server Box and installed TADST server, our RAM is capped at 4.3GB and once the mission reaches that limit there is tons of input lag, AI doesn't take damage, people's guns are shooting for like a good 10 seconds after they've finished.
Anyone got a solution for this, we've been unable to find one.

64-bit ArmA yes, and I can give you the parameters, we've been switching them a lot trying to find the issue
-ip=204.12.238.26 -nologs -high -hugepages -d3dNoLock -loadMissionToMemory - These are the latest we've been using
-high doesn't exist. -d3dNoLock doesn't make sense on a server that is not rendering anything
Can you send me the first 10 lines of your server log? It should list the start parameters and a bit more info. You might have to disable -noLogs

I think it doesn't show all start parameters because there are so many mods.
But from what I can see, I can see nothing wrong.
I'm thinking TADST config, perhaps we set it up poorly.
As Flash said, we didn't have this issue on our classic game server. RAM usage was fine and dandy and we were happy with the server responsiveness.
the only way to limit memory usage is start parameter. But might very well be that tadst is hiding parameters from you
if you start without mods the RPT will show you all parameters

we are desparate for an answer,.....My friend and I are trying trying to respawn (in this case) in Liberation and be able to keep our loadout. We are not having much luck. It might work at times while not working other times. We have tried various mods to help this problem but nothoing seems to work,.....100%

Okay another issue here, so whilst fixing networking issues, we ran into a problem that breaks my logical thinking now:
When in the server, a player shoots an AI, it takes about 5 seconds for said AI to die, HOWEVER
If the player takes over another AI through Zeus Direct Control, and then shoots the AI, it does it instantly
I have lost any idea as to what could be possibly causing this issue

Yes there are, however we tested this, it only happens when ACE is enabled, doesn't matter if ACE is the only mod, or if there are 200 other mods enabled
We belive that the issue might be caused by missing ACE server files but we've been unable to find these
All of the mods that are running on the server were downloaded from the steam workshop
Check your advanced medical settings under "prevent instanteous death" or something like that, can't remember the exact phrase.

I'm having issues loading a map on my server and I think it's an issue with ACE3 but I'm not entirely sure.
The map loads in the background but it immediately opens the map select screen again

Wrong. there is also everything that would be in the RPT in stderr. Just look at it.
And the most significant looking thing is the most insignificant. The extension doesn't exist for linux.

That error suggests the GPU was "hot removed" in some form
Which is funny because windows has a tendency to crash on hot removes
could also be driver crash. The last couple months of Nvidia drivers crash daily for me. Sometimes multiple times in just an hour. Everything freezes for a couple seconds then my screen goes black and comes back with a "recovered from a driver crash" message
Mine often times just locks up the CPU and audio chip until restart

Some people have the "signature check time out" problem. And nothing helps. It can be strange, but change your language in ArmA properties in steam to english. It can be helpful for somebody from Russia or Italy or smth else...

One reason Steam might redownload the mods is if they somehow got corrupted. I assume it redownloaded everything?
In my experience Steam just seems to do that sometimes for no apparent reason. It is just another reason why we don't use it as the primary mechanism for syncing mods.

It is saying that your "Data file"/pbo is "too short"/too short.
Meaning it should be longer than it is. usually caused by uploads getting aborted before they are done
Anyone else here use Project Zenith Alpha?
Upload the whole file and then it keeps doing this untill the whole file is uploaded just to loop again. Re-installed the server, the mod. No idea what else to do. Saying skip gives me the file is too short error

basically the only way it works at this point is once the error happens i tend to have to revert or update the drivers

Unless you have novideo. Never use novideo. Drivers are really going to be your only fix probably.

you are doing some quite weird stuff there
the -maxMem is useless. -exThreads worsens your performance. -noCB should only affects clients. If it also affects servers then it also worsens your performance.

Ended up uploading a exact mirror of my loaded mods. Same issue. And between myself and server I already transferred well over 100gb of data in the past few days. And in terms of memory available it should be 14gb

That's easy to do. Just increase resolution and Sampling setting.

I can easily max out my 1070 by just turning sampling to the max. Especially in main menu where there is virtually no CPU processing going on

@oak stream i'm having a problem with TFAR when hosting a server through the ingame multiplayer-start (hosting a server through the game to play some little coop missions with 2 of my friends). TFAR works fine for something like 2 minutes and then i'm not even sure what happens. on teamspeak, it shows that i'm continously sending. in arma, i cant hear anyone and noone can hear me. the weirdest thing: i cant open any new internet connections (like new tabs on a browser). does anyone have the slightest idea of what could be going on here?

Iโve got another problem thats probably simple to fix, Iโve got a dedicated server and when I load a mission (that has mods) Iโve made in the editor. It gives the the following error:
โNo entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgWorlds.xxx"
The problem is the server has got the required mods loaded etc. so I cant figure out why the mission wont load. Someone said on a forum I need to have the map assigned in the modlist? but Iโm confused by what that means.
Mods Iโve got are the CUP terrain mods, Esseker, Enhanced Movement and Zombies and Demons. Any help is appreciated.

Alrighty, basically - Since around yesterday at 7pm I've been getting constant yellow chain, and i think this is a connection issue only within Arma 3 as I'm perfectly able to play any other game without any connection issues. I'm getting stable 60-70 ping on the Arma servers I'm trying to join and I don't understand why it's started happening out of the blue

Yes, It's happening throughout all the servers, which makes me believe it's nothing server side
Because this is almost always either your connection or the server connection to you

Yellow chain is pretty common. I saw it when I played with one of my friend 2 player coop that I hosted. He doesn't have good internet and I also saw the chain

I don't get in game to see any rubber banding, the furthest I've got is hearing the bird sounds and effects. But when it first started to happen I did notice rubber banding. I assumed I was being DDOsed or something, But it was only in ArmA, not in TeamSpeak and has been happening for close to 2 days now

There have been some interesting issues with people in the years of Arma. In Arma 2 I had 2 month period when my internet would just cut down for couple of minutes after playing in Arma 2 multiplayer. It just suddenly happened and disappeared without a reason

For Arma 3 Dedicated Servers apparently I need to do a specific launch commandline to load mods. How would I do this? This is what I have so far "@CUP_Terrains_Core;@CUP_Terrains_Maps; @Enhanced_Movement; @Esseker;@Fallujah_V1.2;@Zombies_and Demons"

Well Arma wont start at all
there seems to be this weird issue with map mods that certain ones of them make you unable to load custom scenario saves (doesnt matter what map the scenario is on). it isnt the maps problem since i have the exact same thing happen to multible. one of the maps is australia, that i would really like to keep, but that would mean i cant load savegames anymore.
if you load manually. it says game over and you get thrown back in the custom scenario menu
if you lets say die and it auto loads. your camera becomes black and white and gets placed in a random spot. from there all you pretty much can do is leave
this doesnt seem to happen with normal mods.. just maps (that are also in the mod list because it has assets or something)
Just having the map australia loaded (and custom scenarios and stuff that isnt in the mod list) has same effect

Gents I am looking for help solving TB satellite image import issue. I never had problem like it over 7+ maps I made, but i recently reinstalled my ArmaTools thus perhaps it is something to do with my new settings... How do I make helicopters stop flying in circles? I've had no luck with a basic seek & destroy waypoint, setting their behaviour to Careless & forcing them to hold fire isn't working either. Tried stringing them along with move waypoints, doesnt work even with a completion radius of 100 meters.
It seems like they're trying to get a better angle of attack, but the helis in question are little AH-60's and the path I've laid out is mostly straight forwards. I don't think it's an issue with their combat AI either, they haven't been dumping countermeasures and the enemy AA guns are either destroyed or pre-occupied by the time they're in range. I've also tried changing their position in the editor so they approach from a different angle, at this point I have no idea what else could be tried.

Yeah I got the name wrong, was referring to the MH-6.
Also, turns out the issue I was having was caused by the seek & destroy waypoint being on the ground. Raising the altitude of the waypoint fixed the problem

When i load up arma without mods it loads fine but when i load with mods it loads perfectly but when the main game loads in with "single player" and "prologue" it just comes up with a black screen and when i press alt+tab and go back into the game its just frozen and i cant click anything. A โdependencyโ means the mod โneeds itโ to work properly, so if you are missing that dependency, no, it will not work correctly.

The fastest route to finding the offending mod is bisection. You run half the mods and then based on which half you see the problem in you keep halving until you are down to one or so mods. It is log n in the number of mods which makes it fairly rapid to find the problem mod. That assumes you can run without half the mods to show the problem.
Normally you have an idea about potentially which ones so you can eliminate a lot of the unlikely ones as part of the first check or reduce the candidates but practically it doesn't save much in the way of time that just dumbly halving as it is only a few steps to the answer anyway.
I had tried that down to around 35 mods when the problem was fixed but I'm now comparing the functioning setup to the faulty one to see which mods have been removed

Completely remove Australia and try again. Also, it would help if you list the specific terrains your having issues with. Finally, each terrain should be tested individually, with no other mods loaded. The only exception being mods with dependencies .

Hi, I have been unable to play Arma 3 at all as of lately, I see you all were talking about Windows 10 and I think it fucked with me too. I cannot play ANY matches; local, multiplayer, singleplayer, I have tried validating my files and a few other minor fixes such as clearing Caches.... Still to no avail it has not fixed anything and I am stuck on loading screens which I have to kill Arma with Task Manager.....

Didn't even expect that. I thought USB headset's cause audio bugs and crashes. Didn't hear about a freeze before. But good to know.
Wonder if BI will fix that someday.. It's been a huge problem for over a year now
yeah I noticed that the sound quality got really bad when I switched over to usb headset and that it would semicrash when in 1st-person inside helis but that it would cause these issues kind of baffles me tbh

A trick that mostly fixes the usb sound issue:
Never ever use the win 10 auto driver detection and install.
Deinstall ALL audio drivers, go to the manufacture website, get the original driver, install them manually.
And only after insralling manually plug in the headset
stop dividing by zero...

is the server browser currently bugged? sometimes i find a lot of modes and sometimes i don't, i leave it searching for 2-3 minutes but it seems like some of the servers just vanish from the list

Plugging in headsets/changing playback devices doesn't seem to work
And needs a restart to start working again
I've heard of people tabbing out and losing sound that way, but if you're just losing it spontaneously something might be wrong.

Try changing your window setting from Fullscreen to Fsc Windowed or vice versa - I think that's the workaround for the tabbing out loss, and it might fix your issue too.
Arma can't handle changing audio devices. Maybe something resets your audio device for a brief period
I would imagine in that case I'd have sound breaks from time to time while doing other stuff

@dire flower press ctrl T to lock the camera
Ctrl+T locks to area (Area mode), if camera is moved over a vehicle or similar object it will lock to that (Point mode) and should track even if the vehicle moves
@twin parrot don't mass ping the staff directly

The BI Arsenal will not allow you to load certain loadouts even if that loadout is not greyed out and does not contain any modded items

Yeah. Happens when you have "too many" loadouts. Looked into it as deep as I could. Couldn't find the cause

So I'm hosting a server right. One person was able to join me. The other person instantly disconnects whenever he connects
I used the "Host Server" in the multiplayer menu
Is it possible his ping is an issue?
Make sure he's loading the exact same mods, that's the usual issue

He also says it disconnects server-side whilst he's still loading the map

as it the free version has been released way before most of the DLCs so its not configured for them
I was use the free tools, but it's disapointing if you re-extract the files agina and again and again using different tools.
Now i was manually extracting alle files now @uncut trellis
do you understand that the free tools have more limited functionality than the subsrciber version that is kept up to date? just saying free is free and works but its not as good as the sub version so you shouldnt really complain since its free.

it just doesnt unpack everything automagically because when that version was released the DLCs did not excist
it unpacks the basic game and if I recall right few of the first DCLs
I was only a little bit pissed off because i was extract the P: Drive using BI-Tools 3 times and not all PBOs where extracted, then someone say i should use arma3p instead that will fix it and again PBOs are missing.
So i was using BI-Tools again and using the long way and extracting the missing PBOs (Arma 3 Base) manually
yeah the bi-tools dont work very well atm
extractPbo can be used to manually extract the missing dlcs
the correct syntax for that has been pasted around at least on #arma3_terrain multiple times

but i have some files like .frm files and .ibd files how do i open them
help, it's been days now, whenever I join a server, I get stuck with a loading screen, but other players can see me moving and I can also hear ingame sound. help
I was able to get in the server I usually play with but my friends jokingly kicked me off and now I'm back to being stuck at the loading screen

MCC is opening a loading screen and never closing it.
Happens rarely on first join. And almost everytime if you rejoin or if the server has been running for a while

I got bug where i can't see any buildings ore vechiles when i am in vechile. but when i am not in vechile i can see textures. It is only happening on sandbox servers
hey guys.. anyone ran into an issue where Ace bugs out if not called directly from the parameters of the arma3 server exe?
Explain what you mean by "called directly from the parameters of the server".
Because if you're wondering why, as a client, ACE doesn't work on a server without mods, then I can only tell you that it couldn't.
before I discovered the ability to have a param.txt file
I would add -mod=@ace in the parameters for the arma3server.exe
