Okay, couple of my members are having an issue with out of memory errors post 1.66.
With and without mods, with default malloc and with tbb4. Same issue with malloc set to system.
All other settings on default, they are unable to launch.
Reinstalls, file integrity, and drivers have all been checked and a-ok'd

Hello dear friends, i have issue with my arma3 resolution, my aspect ration changes to somethign bad
i paly with 1920*1080 16:9
but there is no more option to chose aspect ratio
in vidoe settings

-just remove fov lines from actual profile
-start game while my desktop is 19201080 (right now its 1024768)

EDIT: Tested:
-creating new profile just automatically places same FOV values, bad values!
-by just removing FOV lines from actual profile they get renewed when starting game and are not good, bad values!
-when starting game with my desktop on 1920*1080 this issue dosent happen and values stay, good values!Β¨

This is not good, every time now i want to play arma i must set desktop to 19201080.Wish there are option in cfg what ratio i want to use. (16:9)
This way it probably sets game as 4:3 1920

vsync is definitely a place to start, but that AMD CPU is likely the biggest problem you have

That said, Arma isn't a game you'll get really high frame rates

So if, with object view distance set to 2000m and overall view distance set to 8000m

And object quality set to high

And the rest on very high or higher quality

You get 30-60 fps

you mean you can't chat in Arma 3? there are multiple channels in arma.

Direct - Can be heard by people nearby

Group - People in your fireteam or squad

Side - Everybody on your side (Blufor, Opfor)

Command - Same as side but usually used by commanders

Global - Everybody in the game can hear

default keys for chatting are "," "." to switch channels, "-" to type and "caps lock" to talk through your mic

Maybe someone can help me: I have set my object view distance to 3200 (normal view distance 7000). Sometimes, my object view distance goes to 1280 for no apparent reason (i THINK it is related to playing online, but not always)

Got this when I Voice connect, any ideas?: Discord is connected to your voice server on vip-amsterdam3 with an average ping of 142ms. The last ping was 145ms.
If the ping is not consistent or more than 250ms, consider asking the server owner to switch to another region.

so after some messing about, i deleted the 'addons' folder in both client and server instance, then verified them both via steam, to which it was all re-downloaded. in running the server, i am still presented with the 'warning', but the server functions as normal. i am able to connect to the server, the mission file is downloaded successfully and i am able to play the mission. previous to this, when attempting to join server, my arma 3 client would crash.

We as a clan with own servers have some troubles with the 1.66 update. Some of our player have hard FPS drops to 2 - 3 FPS and for everyone the scope zoom don't work very well. Have to click it like 8 times until it zooms in. Furthermore it dont works in Vehicle Turrets like the Cheetah, etc. Just wanted to inform.

I will say that when it's happened to me, a lot of the time it's just after nearby explosions, especially something like an cluster bomb/artillery shell has impacted on top of a town

doesn't happen enough for me that I can definitively say that there's a link, but thinking back explosions were definitely occurring around the time it happened at least on some of the occasions I can recall

There were others using multi-monitor setups who, as best I can tell from the rants, were using the aspect ratio setting to alter positioning of parts of the hud. Which again, isn't what it was meant for, it just could be misused to achieve what they wanted.

@warm apex I had problems launching but was because I was still on the RC branch, so the game didn't update to the latest hotfix until I switched to the main branch. BattleEye needed to update too

I have 1.66 + hotfix, playing a workshop thing 'Dynamic Recon Ops', I cannot freelook while driving any vehicle. Also when vehicle gunner, I cannot move gunsight around. Tried default keys, and remapping, nothing works

My personal suggestion would be validate files, ensure all your virus software etc is not running including any firewalls (if people even use these anymore). I also get the best experience when I custom add my windows username to the file properties list of permissions (don't change permissions on fat files) Also you could try putting it online.

Guys I have a problem with a mission I'm making on Isla Duala A3. Whenever I try to load the mission on our dedicated server (windows) it takes me back to the lobby (of some test vainilla mission we have) while stating this error:

"No entry 'bin\config.bin/CfgPatches.cup_ibr_plants'."

Can someone shed some light on why this is happening?

Mods are all up to date (RHS_GREF, RHS_AFRF, RHS_USF, CBA, ACE3, CUP_Terrains, CUP_Core, ALiVE, Isla Duala A3, Panthera A3) Thank you.

I verified integrity of cup_terrains_core on both ends and it's ok. The weird thing is that another earlier version of that same mission, works fine. Something got added in between (I only added Zeus Modules and some RHS vehicles, nothing that might reference cup in any way) that broke the mission.

Both the arrays have no cup_ibr_plants or cup_terrains_ibr_plants. Isla Duala A3 has no "cup_terrains_ibr_plants.pbo". Cup_terrains_core does, but that's the way it's supposed to be.

I'm also comparing both mission.sqm's (the one that works & the one that does not) and can't find any difference appart from some strings on the addOns array that I can't relate to cup in any way. The mission itself has no cup dependencys.

That was my guess too. The fact that, duala may be broken or out of date. But what puzzles me is that it worked on that other version of mine. Still I can't use that version.

I can't see where I enabled filePatching (I guess i didn't). I'm using TADST to run the servers on the machine.

Search your mission for that line. The file isn't in your mission and therefore your mission won't load.

Hey jawsh, thx again for taking care of me :p Actually not much, i did set up more page file, tried another version of nvidia's drivers, monitored my temps, tried a bigger game in case my gpu was throtlling, reduced filtering from 8x to 0x in arma. Somehow i don't get a black screen anymore but the game goes very laggy after +/- 30 min

@polar condor It could be related to the memory allocator specified in the launcher advanced parameters. I've found this (which resolved it for me)

Anyone using the malloc="tbbmalloc" will likely be effected. You will need to replace this with malloc="tbb4malloc_bi"

If you do no have a memory allocator specified and are experiencing this issue, then change the blank entry to malloc="tbb4malloc_bi"

Setting RAM max to 2gb and Video Memory to 3.2gb in Launcher has stopped these issues as well.

@tiny imp or anyone with deeper understand of issues to crashes: Me and a lot of other players like me have still FPS issues when playing on Exile servers. Drops to 2-3 FPS, sometimes mine crashes to the classic "UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI" . Two of our guys in our Exile team are IT techs too, and we have tried pretty much every sollution in the book. Tried out so many Nvidia drivers that my harddrive is soon full of them. IF someone are running AMD Cpu and Geforce GPU, and have a good tip outside the box, please throw it at me. πŸ•Ί ✨ Happy New Year πŸ’₯ 🍻 and still thank you to Bohemia for making a game I spent thousands of hours on allready! It is some sort of wierd rendering issue, since it happens randomly on different PCs with different specs. Vanilla usually works fine, crashes less often.

Been trying to fix my game for a week now, and bohemia and battleye aren't responding to my support tickets and forums haven't been really helpful, so a friend suggested I try it here. I bought the game last week during the steam winter sale, and it hasn't worked a single time. When I launch the game, battleye gives me the error message: "1-1-2017 21:26:42 - BattlEye Service update failed. The master server is offline or unreachable. Please ensure that you are connected to the internet and BEService.exe is not blocked by a firewall." I tried litteraly everything I have found on forums, in FAQs and just random things I thought of. I tried disabling my firewall, antivirus, opening up all of the ports on my router and in my firewall and in my antivirus. I tried deleting anything that was even remotely related to arma and battleye and reinstalled it all. I tried using Tunngle, but that stupid program doesn't work. I have tried updating my killer network drivers. I tried downloading the files I needed straight from Battleye.com/download but for some reason they removed all files and now you can only download some RCON. I have no idea what to do, and I really just want to play with my friends on their server. I can see some servers, like 800. Official and non official. Battleye protected and non protected. In europe, america and russia. Direct connect doesn't work. When I direct connect from the launcher it launches the game but after a minute of loading it just stops showing progress or whatever and just displays a black screen. And when I direct connect in the game it just shows an empty server list. I really have run out of options. Please help if you might know what I can do

Heyo. I recently got this game and upon starting up the tutorial I almost instantly noticed that my frame rate would drop to 0 upon pressing any button on my keyboard. After an hour or so of messing around with the settings, I figured out that disabling Battleye fixes the issue. However, disabling Battleye prevents me from playing multiplayer. Does anyone have a fix for this?

Weird problem where a buddy of mine is getting a steam ticket error whenever the RHS Littlebird starts up. We confirmed this is the cause through trial and error over and over. Not sure really, it could be just a slight config tweak, or it could be something more complicated

@sage dirge there is no mod for that. they are different executables, and often have things between them that create all kinds of issues when hooked together. you can however download the tools and within them, there is a way to control multiple installs if you have the hardware for it.

gentlemen: i am having problems since the new update regadring the new key bindings for the action menu. i am used to confirm an action from the menu with mouse1. now i shoot my buddy in the back when i try to access his backpack. another option would be to use "use defalult action" bound with mouse1. the major problem here is now, that i cant shoot through doors when i am close enought or shoot bodies (sounds weird, but it shows the problem when in CQB) when they die in front of me. klicking on a falling dead enemy opens the inventory which sucks. any solution on this?

I'm on 1.64, but unless I'm mistaken the behaviour change described in that dev update isn't that the default behaviour of mouse 1 has changed, but that the behaviour of space/mouse 3 (middle mouse button) was changed

I understand why they changed it, I mean you're in the menu and suddenly you need to fire because an enemy has rounded the corner in front of you, hitting ESC once or several times before you can fire usually ended up with you dead.

it depends. im klicking the right mouse button to close the menu which is quite fast. i see now that i cant have it my way anymore.

you've got me going now. I had to start the game just to check what actions I would use (it's all just muscle memory otherwise). As I said before, space in menus or to interact so the new default doesn't change anything for me. I guess there were just different ways to do it previously and they remove one

I'm pretty sure the LMB was the default action button on some default preset at one point, because so many people has brought this up after the update

what I suspect is that the action/behaviour was bound to both LMB and space, and some people used one and others used the other

i seem i just didnt realize the changes myself since i didnt shoot enemies at close range. but recently their inventory opens while i shoot them and they die. need to learn a new method to deal with this

since it's split into two actions which more or less do the same thing, you can probably just unbind the one which is bound to LMB or move it to middle mouse button as seems to be the new default

@fringe salmon I've seen this before when trying to place objects on a table and stuff too, in my case I had to make all of them simple objects, i think.

But try placing the unit a bit above the floor of the tower?

So I've had my ports forwarded and been able to host MP games for a long time now. Since about a week ago it just stopped working, no one can connect and they just get the "Not Responding" error. I have verified firewall and ports yet the problem persists, I am at a loss 😦 Anyone know of a update that caused this or anything?
