I was never able to really process when the event would be according to a time zone that I recognize. But I found a note on Steam that I missed the event by a few hours. But I figured I'd try getting on the server anyway. There was one other player, so it's better than nothing. So I connected, and I was a bird.

hidden grail
#

lol

#

what timezone u live in ?

short tulip
#

I mostly forgot how to play the game, and I was a bird. I'm in EST.

#

Er, EDT

hidden grail
#

you didnt miss much, most of the time there was only me and Pedeathrian

short tulip
#

I would've been more likely to see the message if I were logged into Steam. But I had a power failure scare at the time and had most of my programs closed out to prepare to shut down my computer, and maybe give it a much-needed cleaning. But I never got around to it when I felt like I could.

hidden grail
#

what happened ?

#

are you in the flooded area ?

short tulip
#

I'm semi-close to the outer remnants to Harvey. It's been windy all day. I had my lights on, and even though the lights dim for a split second when the air conditioner kicks in, the lights dimmed for a few seconds at a time. So I checked my UPS and found that it's battery capacity was almost empty. Since I routinely put heavy load on my browser, it takes a while to shut down, and it wsa a bad time to even start until about half an hour later. But once I did, my battery seemed to get better.

hidden grail
#

good luck then

short tulip
#

Well, as far as the weather is concerned, I really don't need much luck. I'm pretty far from where all the scary stuff is happening. All this amounts to is more wind and rain. I just gotta keep the windows closed when it rains, and keep them open when it doesn't.

Hi, I am thinking about buying Arma 3. I only have a mac, but I heard there was an experimental port. What DLC is compatible with it? Is Zeus and Maiden DLC compatible? Also, is there something similar to Zeus but for single player? Will it ever update to include newer DLCs?

#

I am asking since there is only 4 days until 66% discount on steam ends~

blazing sonnet
#

@midnight blaze Here's the most recent official word that I've personally seen: https://www.reddit.com/r/arma/comments/6vie6m/any_update_on_state_of_experimental_ports_linuxmac/dm0i8kl/
We are coordinating with VP on a bigger update now, we expect to release it rather sooner than later. It's still going to be a few versions behind the Windows version (actually using the Jets DLC release package), on the other hand, it's going to support 64bit memory allocation. That alone should solve many pressing issues we had in the past. Eventually, we would like to make the gap smaller, but testing the build takes some time. - previously-encoding-now-project lead Petr Kolář

midnight blaze
#

nice! Thanks.

#

Would you recommend buying the game and which DLCs?

blazing sonnet
#

I would think that the two-hour time window for refunds works on Linux/irrespective of platform?

#

Others can vouch for the game, not just in here 😉

#

As far as DLCs... Apex is the most content-behind-the-paywall-per-dollar of the DLCs released thusfar I'd say with the possible exception of the upcoming Laws of War

#

Dunno if you've heard about the Arma 3 DLC 'strategy' but a TL;DR of "features are free, content is paid" is pretty apt here

midnight blaze
#

ic

#

is the helicopters, marksman DLC worth it?

#

Are there stock helicopters and longer range rifles?

blazing sonnet
#

There are indeed

midnight blaze
#

so what more do the dlc include?

blazing sonnet
#

The paywall for them consists of ahem notifications when you're in proximity/looking at them and a restriction from entering-as-crew/picking-up-DLC-weapons normally

midnight blaze
#

i see

blazing sonnet
#

Not restricted from passenger seats though

#

The Virtual Arsenal/Garage feature is exempt from the notifications, if you want to "try before you buy"

midnight blaze
#

i see

blazing sonnet
#

There's also one or two "Showcase" SP missions associated with each of the Helicopters, Marksmen, and Jets DLCs; Apex has the "Apex Protocol" co-op campaign (you can theoretically play it SP but it's not designed for that) and the upcoming Laws of War DLC has the "Remnants of War" mini-campaign

midnight blaze
#

What DLC out off all the current DLC are compatible with the current port?

blazing sonnet
#

Based on the Reddit comment I linked from the project lead, possibly Jets (no promises!) since that one is mentioned; that DLC corresponds to game version/update 1.70

#

As far as what you'd be missing out on on Linux for now, game version/update 1.72 corresponded to the Malden DLC (but that's a free download), 1.74 was a bit of a hotfix, and game version/update 1.76 is currently undergoing release candidate testing before Laws of War's September 12th release.

midnight blaze
#

i see

#

is there something like zeus in single player?

#

And are mods compatible?

blazing sonnet
#

Regarding Zeus there's an official "Showcase" and I'm sure people have done Zeus-compatible SP scenarios

verbal nova
#

Simple Single Player Cheat Menu (mod). Should be compatible, but not sure.

#

Aka SSPCM

blazing sonnet
#

As far as mods (community content that isn't just scenarios) go... I make no guarantees.

midnight blaze
#

i see.

#

thanks

#

are there vanilla snipers though

#

since i am not too sure what marksman adds

blazing sonnet
#

If you mean vanilla sniper rifles then absolutely

midnight blaze
#

hm.

#

what does the dlc add that is different?

blazing sonnet
#

As per my previous Virtual Arsenal/Garage, you can try before you buy (the DLCs) 😉 in there the weapon/vehicle/equipment lists have icons for each entry corresponding to its DLC

midnight blaze
#

thanks

blazing sonnet
#

That being said, Marksmen has seven weapons with pick-up-from-ground-or-vehicle-or-container access to them being behind the paywall as I mentioned previously: two 'medium' machine guns and five "marksman" rifles

midnight blaze
#

though would the apex bundle on steam be worth it if i don't want the karts dlc

verbal nova
blazing sonnet
#

The Apex Edition bundle is definitely the most content-per-dollar bundle right now, yes

midnight blaze
#

i see

blazing sonnet
#

DLC Bundle 1's included in the Apex Edition bundle while DLC Bundle 2 includes all four of the other paid DLCs (Zeus and Malden are free)

#

So for now Apex Edition + DLC Bundle 2 = all official content

midnight blaze
#

well thanks for persuading me. ;D Now i'll go ahead and buy it tmr.

blazing sonnet
#

You're welcome 😉 please note that "[h]alf of Bohemia Interactive's net revenue from direct sales (not as part of bundles) of the Arma 3 Laws of War DLC during 2017 will be donated to" the International Committee of the Red Cross. 😃

#

Please note that I can't promise any timeline or even confirmation of Arma 3's Linux version updating past game version 1.70 / the Jets DLC, nor do the developers; that's why this isn't a Steam Play game

sly rover
#

As for mods: It mostly depends on if you can find ones made for the older version we are on (1.64, possibly 1.70 "soon").

#

Since mods will update with api additions/changes.

#

But binary mods do not work at all, the last time I tried. That means that radio mods that use teamspeak will not work, or things like more realistic ballistics.

hidden grail
#

Mostly only older versions of mods work (e.g. RHS, Ryanzombies, CUP ...)

#

and atm the DLC bundle 2 is not compatible with our current version of arma - so the Jets DLC and Malden dont work

blazing sonnet
#

Although see the (Windows) project lead's remark that "[i]t's still going to be a few versions behind the Windows version (actually using the Jets DLC release package)"

#

Unfortunately what HER0 and emp64 describe are very relevant

#

For example CUP is having some work done on the Weapons and Vehicles packages to update them for the Jets DLC-corresponding game version 1.70 due to key changes introduced in that version

molten pulsar
#

typically you'll need to use mod versions that are released before 1 dec 2016 to be safe

#

at least until we get an updated port

#

there might be a couple that updated after that and still work but it's not likely

#

especially mods that have assets besides scripts

molten pulsar
#

perhaps "we" should set up a repository of mods that are compatible with the port

#

a central place where we can download compatible mod versions 🙂

#

the only difficulty with that is finding downloads with older version

hidden grail
#

thats a good idea @molten pulsar, but we would need pretty lot of storage space

#

I created last year a free mega account on behalf of the armaonunix group, that I havent used since

#

there is ~50GB free space, I can put there some compatible mods I have

#

if anyone is interested in adding moar, just write me a message here on Discord

#

... hmm I just remembered why I dropped the idea using Mega

#

Safari does not support it according to some guys that tried to use it

hasty pelican
#

the problem is where do you get those older mod versions?
afaik the steam workshop always downloads the latest one
and Armaholic deletes old files when you update a mod.
not sure about play with six, but I doubt they keep hundreds of different mod versions around

hidden grail
#

i got some old mods

#

all the mods that are supported on my modded server

molten pulsar
#

withSix keeps a version history

#

will need Windows to download them though ^^

#

but yea, storage space and the associated costs probably don't outweigh the benefits

#

I do have 1TB free space available but it's only accessible through webdav

#

and it's fairly slow IIRC

#

ah didn't notice @hasty pelican's note about withSix ^^

#

and once a new port update happens someone will have to update everything 😁

#

but if there's enough interest I guess we could do a little web based thingy with some moderation functionality

midnight blaze
#

it is so laggy on my computer with lowest settings... 😦

midnight blaze
#

especially in vehicles

midnight blaze
#

and in cutscenes

molten pulsar
#

what are your specs?

#

On standard I'm able to play the Combined Arms showcase at about 40-60 fps

#

my specs are i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz and an AMD R9 290-ish with the open source mesa drivers

wise canyon
#

@molten pulsar you can download from withSIX without windows

midnight blaze
#

I run a 13-inch Early 2015 macbook air. Using Sierra. 1.6GHz intel core i5

#

intel HD Graphics 6000 1536MB

wise canyon
#

we use withSIX as source for our web based mod manager

molten pulsar
#

@midnight blaze well I guess that's why you have bad performance ^^

#

@wise canyon any more details? Always thought they used some proprietary thingy

wise canyon
#

nah, it's just a lot of json metadata + gzipped files

molten pulsar
#

cool thanks 😃

wise canyon
#

we use it for our server manager as well

molten pulsar
#

did you talk with the withSix people about it? In the past they didn't like 3rd party tools on their network

wise canyon
#

they have their own node tools as well

molten pulsar
#

didn't that require the Sync client on the local machine?

#

anyway, thanks 😃

wise canyon
#

we're transitioning over to steam workshop eventually

hasty pelican
#

275MB ArmA 3 Linux Update??

#

Anyone else got that too rn?

#

Oh, it's just Laws of War bonus content for the deluxe edition :(

short tulip
#

I don't have the update yet. But I'll bet that's what it is.

hasty pelican
#

yeah I checked the "downloading" folder of steam, just the bonus content

short tulip
#

I'm getting 79 MB for the game and 1.4GB for the server.

hidden grail
#

there does not seem to be any change on steamdb

#

btw Malden DLC was before or after the Jet DLC ?

short tulip
#

After. I have a playlist of all the OSTs in order of DLC releases. And Malden is after Jets.

hidden grail
#

😦

midnight blaze
#

wonder when the update of the port will be released

hasty pelican
#

well Dwarden said something about port news after Laws Of War is out
Laws of War is out, the next Sitrep should be due in 2 weeks, so... in 2 weeks? 😄

midnight blaze
#

😄

#

still have framerate issues when in vehicles, and in campain mode. no lag whatsoever in editor or VR

molten pulsar
#

yeah your CPU and GPU are way underpowered to run A3 in any shape or form

#

maybe at 800x600 😁

sly rover
#

But you are far from alone

#

There are many Mac users with underpowered hardware stubbornly playing Arma 3.

hushed vine
#

I have a goddamn multimedial laptop and it works fine

midnight blaze
#

any servers compatible with our port?

#

looking for some RP

hidden grail
#

dunno what RP stands for for, but there is one quality server online (😄 ), called emp's Mission server

midnight blaze
#

roleplay, like arma life

sly rover
#

You could try hosting one yourself.

#

Well, probably not on that mac, unless if you want to rent out a server.

midnight blaze
#

hah

hidden grail
#

there is only a little number of players really playing arma multiplayer, I am not sure if it would be worth it

#

Altis life with 5 players at max would be probably boring

midnight blaze
#

true

short tulip
#

After thinking about everything that changed in the game between 1.64 and 1.72 (since we're getting 1.72), I'd just like to say that I can't wait to fly jets (1.70) over Malden (1.72) with the Advanced Flight Model (1.66)! It'll be 64-bit (1.68)!

hasty pelican
#

wait, advanced flight model??

covert quiver
#

advanced flight model was before 1.66 AFAIK

#

but its not compatible with linux

short tulip
#

Oh. Okay. My mistake.

sly rover
#

Are you certain we will be getting 1.72? It might just be 1.70.

sly rover
#

As for the flight model, the library they use is Linux compatible, they would just have to figure out a way to make it work in the port.

covert quiver
#

ok sorry

hasty pelican
#

well it's not compatible with Mac, and the ports share data so maybe that's why

sly rover
#

It is a small detail, no big deal.

#

I hadn't considered that.

#

Is that even true, though? It is kind of hard to tell, from their website.

#

It looks like it should work. It is just a C++ SDK. It has a plugin that works on Windows and Linux, but that doesn't mean the library itself doesn't work on Mac.

hasty pelican
#

yeah well I don't see any other reason it isn't included in the ports...

#

ultimately I don't know either

sly rover
#

Well just because it might work natively on all platforms doesn't mean it is easy to include.

#

There may be a complication related to its interaction with eON.

#

Or it may just be extra work that isn't worth the time right now, when there are more important tasks.

short tulip
#

Yeah. I guess I lost focus there. I thought we were getting 1.72, but we're just getting 1.70, I think.

left fog
#

grins evilly ... for some suspicious reason

molten pulsar
hasty pelican
#

😮

cursive oasis
hasty pelican
#

😍

short tulip
#

Thank you very much.

left fog
molten pulsar
#

#

even more ❤ if porting newer versions picks up some speed now that the 64-bit stuff is out of the way 😃

hasty pelican
#

@left fog 😘

heavy lion
#

Awesome :D

molten pulsar
#

downloading now.. woohooo 🥂

short tulip
#

It gave me error messages about missing assets. Also, there are some control changes, and a lot more control presets.

molten pulsar
#

perhaps everything wasn't synced properly between mirrors or whatever?

short tulip
#

I'm validating now. It's still probably worth downloading. If it takes an additional patch to fix it, it will be small. If it takes a few more months of testing to patch it, we'll just live with it.

left fog
#

mirrors are PITA (usually something is corrupt and steam fails to check it), my windows update download of 1.76 was 60 GB (9+9+23+19)

molten pulsar
#

ouch

left fog
#

so, i can fully understand frustration of some users

short tulip
#

Okay. 9 files failed validation. It looks like it's on my end.

#

...It's saying that the files to download all amout to 0 bytes. That can't be right.

#

Well, time to try validating again. Also, Guns of Icarus Online wants to patch too.

#

Well, it says it checks out. Time to try it again.

molten pulsar
#

first run, no errors

#

all good 😃

hasty pelican
#

@short tulip I had ArmA report to me some addon needing another but not finding it with the last version too, it would still work just fine
so maybe just ignore it?

short tulip
#

Well, the error messages are happening again. The offending files are a3\vegetation_f_exp\clutter\grass\c_grassbunch_hi.p3d and a3\vegetation_f_exp\tree\t_rhizophora_f.p3d and I get "Cannot open object" errors on both of them. If they come from a mod, I can safely ignore them. But if not, it's a problem.

hasty pelican
#

no, that doesn't look like mod files, looks like Tanoa files.

short tulip
#

Okay. I tried opening Tanoa in the Eden editor and now a3\vegetation_f_exp\treeparts|d_treestump_cut_large_f.p3d cannot load either. Time to go back to validate.

molten pulsar
#

very nice, the combined arms showcase at Very High preset on an AMD R290 using the open source mesa drivers runs between 30-50 fps and about 3.2-ish GB ram 😃

hasty pelican
#

if it still doesn't work, I'd try removing steamapps/common/Arma3/Expansion and validating
could be steam not properly downloading/overwriting a file, and *_f_exp is definitely Expansion (Tanoa)

#

I'm still downloading, I'll report if I run into problems

molten pulsar
#

@short tulip are you still on the legacyports branch perhaps?

short tulip
#

Nope.

molten pulsar
#

aww 😦

#

I'm on the normal one and it's all good for me

#

you could try deleting the PBOs that contain those P3Ds

#

vegation_f_exp.pbo

hasty pelican
#

yeah that pbo doesn't exist

#

that's why I said delete the whole Expansion folder
i dont know where vegetation_f_exp is contained

molten pulsar
#

ahh missed that sorry 😃

hasty pelican
#

and I can't look at it, because it's .ebo so no unpacking
(did Tanoa become unencrypted with 1.70? if so, you could look inside and find the pbo you need to delete)

molten pulsar
#

it did

#

no it didn't 😛

hasty pelican
#

nicey ^-^
mikeros pbo tools run on linux

molten pulsar
#

happened with Malden

hasty pelican
#

oh :c

molten pulsar
#

they're .pbo files though

hasty pelican
#

well then they're unencrypted and we can look inside xD

short tulip
#

I tried deleting the Addons folder that was in the Expansion folder. I'm validating now.

molten pulsar
#

yup unpacking works fine 😃

hasty pelican
#

okay

short tulip
#

If this doesn't work, I'm going to restart Steam and switch to another mirror.

short tulip
#

It didn't work. It seems that the files that are being downloaded are invalid.

#

I am changing mirrors from Atlanta to Charlotte.

sly rover
#

The 0b download can mean that it is removing extra files.

#

But I'm having the same issue. Tanoa has no trees/grass

short tulip
#

Hmm. Yeah. I was wondering about that. No matter how much it downloads, the process ends with the total amount of data to download changing to 0.

sly rover
#

I'm trying legacyports right now.

#

legacyports fixed it for me

short tulip
#

Okay. I will switch to that version for now.

#

Um, what's the code for that again?

sly rover
#

Arma3LegacyPorts

short tulip
#

Thanks.

covert quiver
#

"please end the game and wait until steam downloaded the DLC. then restart the game"

#

cant choose tanoa from editor

hasty pelican
#

I remember having had that once, I think validating fixed it, can't remember tho

covert quiver
#

not for me though

hasty pelican
#

are you using the legacy ports branch?
if no, switch to it, if yes, switch away, idk :b

covert quiver
#

tried both 😛

hasty pelican
#

oh, well shit

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

#

@covert quiver okay, got the same problem too now 😦

molten pulsar
#

same for me

hasty pelican
#

and I got super low fps now... everything on low 15fps with AMD RX480 (Mesa 17.3-git)

molten pulsar
#

compared to 1.64?

hasty pelican
#

in 1.64 I easily had 60+
(just stratis in eden editor, no scenario at all)

molten pulsar
#

hmm weird

#

it runs way better than 1.64 for me

#

are you on an older distro (e.g. lower LLVM version)?

#

from glxinfo: OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD HAWAII (DRM 2.50.0 / 4.12.11-300.fc26.x86_64, LLVM 4.0.0)

hasty pelican
#

no I'm on Arch linux, llvm-svn 6.0

molten pulsar
#

ah no clue then 😛

hasty pelican
#

OpenGL renderer string: AMD Radeon (TM) RX 480 Graphics (POLARIS10 / DRM 3.15.0 / 4.12.12-1-ARCH, LLVM 6.0.0)

#

turning Bloom to 0 gave me 20fps extra

#

wtf

hidden grail
#

I cant even run the game, it says that I have to wait until the DLC is downloaded

molten pulsar
#

do you have -world=tanoa as a parameter?

hasty pelican
#

right, whenever I enable bloom, I'm limited to 15 fps

#

all other PP settings are okay

hidden grail
#

@molten pulsar no

hasty pelican
#

I'mma delete my profile and see if generating a new one with default settings has any impact

molten pulsar
#

bloom doesn't affect performance at all for me

#

maybe it's a driver issue

#

me looking at the terminal on Altis with the Very High preset I get about 66 fps

hasty pelican
#

yeah, I now got artifacts all over the place, I'll recompile Mesa, I'm 99% sure it's an issue on my side, not with arma

#

deleting profile didn't fix Tanoa DLC missing btw

#

so don't try that

molten pulsar
#

I'm quite amazed how well the open source driver performs

#

and how well the port is done I guess ^^

hasty pelican
#

actually, let me try mesa from the repos first, can't remember why I used the git version anyway...

short tulip
#

I've had some pretty bad framerates on some of the main maps. But I went into VR, and it's generally fine. But there seems to be an odd amount of sharpness in the game. I'm not sure if it was the case in 1.64. Maybe I'm spoiled after playing Shadow of Mordor for the past few days. But I'm gonna do the Bootcamp campaign again.

hidden grail
#

I tried the Attack heli showcase and I have to say that I got higher fps and in general turning around is much more smooth

covert quiver
#

hmmm, if i disable vSync arma crashes after 3-5 minutes into the scenario (proprietary NVIDIA driver)

hidden grail
#

also I like the new radar system in the heli and the new heli HUD 😃

hasty pelican
#

right, mesa was the problem. Stratis in Eden, everything high, 120fps ^-^

hidden grail
#

😮

hasty pelican
#

ooh, even the white blinking on lod change seems to have disappeared :O

#

I'll test some scenarios etc later c:

hidden grail
#

textures are great now

hasty pelican
#

yes :D

hidden grail
#

the fighter jet mission is too hard for me 😭

#

but the visuals are really cool now

covert quiver
#

as a navy fan i must say the USS Freedom is cool "af"

hidden grail
#

playing on laptop with 760m and I am getting 30fps with visibility set to max, when set to 6000km then I am getting 60+fps

#

yeah it is 😄

hasty pelican
#

what you need so high viewdistances for? D:
I'm usually at 3500 total and 2500 object and 100 shadow D:

left fog
short tulip
#

So if the Mac version has Metal support, does the Linux version have Vulkan support?

left fog
#

there might be some bugs so please write reports to support if needed

#

@short tulip not (yet) afaik

hidden grail
#

@hasty pelican for jets

#

when flying 1200km/h +

hasty pelican
#

ooooh okay, that makes sense :D
I only do infantry and helicopter b:

hidden grail
#

I just wanted to try the new jets

#

@left fog and BI and VP team, thanks for the new version 😁

hasty pelican
#

can anyone try if startup parameters work for you?
it seems arma ignores mine (noticed because -nosplash doesn't work)

short tulip
#

Oh dear. I'm on the Bootcamp campaign. And in the part where I'm riding in the helicopter, I can turn all the way to the right and see my own neckhole.

#

Okay. After some switching to 3rd person mode and back and zooming in, I've lost the ability to see my neck hole.

hidden grail
#

@left fog there is problem with Tanoa not working, dont you know something about it ? some workaround ?

hasty pelican
#

I think I found the problem (maybe), my appmanifest for ArmA 3 does not include any data for the ArmA 3 Apex depot

#

nope, that did nothing

hidden grail
#

anyone tried installing arma serve ?

#

I tried it twice through steamcmd and I am still getting the 1.64 version

hasty pelican
#

my bet with the Tanoa issue is that Steam is reporting some false information to the game, because the data is there... (i tried moving the tanoa pbos into the main addons folder)
I guess they check Steam info about what dlc is installed, and Steam is confused somehow and says we don't have apex

hasty pelican
#

OMG YES!!!
RHS AND CUP WORK WITH THIS VERSION 😍

hidden grail
#

@left fog could you please update also the server ? its still 1.64 only

hidden grail
#

@hasty pelican you have the Tanoa not working issue as well ?

hasty pelican
#

yes, I do

hidden grail
#

if anyone is interested we are trying to solve the Tanoa issue

#

there are some people that dont have the issue

blissful ravine
#

hey

#

Apex doesnt work under 1.70

#

any solution?

hasty pelican
#

yes we know, we're looking for a fix rn

#

basically it seems like Steam doesn't download a few files, for some weird reason

blissful ravine
#

😦

#

hope for a fix

short tulip
#

Well, I was having the problem where a few asset files in Apex weren't valid. And the Arma3LegacyPorts branch fixed the issue. And you are the third person that I notice has the problem of Apex not working at all.

blissful ravine
#

Legacy doesnt fix it for me

hasty pelican
#

my bet is that steam has some issue

#

because if I saw this right, there's 2 depots for Apex and Apex Ports, so maybe steam doesn't correctly decide to download one? i have no idea, honestly

short tulip
#

I bought Arma3 via the Apex edition which came with Apex and all the DLC before it.

hasty pelican
#

well I got the Alpha verison way back, then dlc bundle 1, apex, dlc bundle 2 :|

hidden grail
#

for me neither

hasty pelican
#

so maybe that makes a difference?

short tulip
#

So I guess the people who bought Apex separately from the game has the problem, and the people who bought Apex with the game don't?

#

And there are seperate branches for each condition?

hasty pelican
#

I don't know, but that seems plausible to me, because some people have no issue and others do...

#

I don't know how exactly steam works this out, so

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

hidden grail
#

every random chosen person has a working Apex dlc

I really can't believe it to be random. There's gotta be some rhyme or reason behind this.

hasty pelican
#

well the strange thing is I had this issue like a few weeks back but I think switching to legacy fixed it
now nothing fixes it

#

idek why, but I remember seeing that message not too long ago

#

one strange thing is, for some reason, in ArmA 3 I don't get the DLC Tab when going to Properties inside Steam... usually you can disable and enable DLC there... but for ArmA it's nonexistant :|

left fog
#

@hidden grail we will be looking in those bugs

scenic sleet

Thanks to everyone at BI! Sadly I'm still in India for another month so I won't be playing with the new release for a while yet, but it's something I'm really looking forward to.

hidden grail
#

@left fog Thank you. Also thanks for the new version, I got better fps and turning around is much smoother and I like the new radar system 😃

hidden grail
#

Tanoa now seems to work !

hasty pelican
#

wow, arma seems to eat ram on linux like crazy
I was 14GB RAM usage just now, after ending arma it dropped to 6GB (and I don't even have anything running using more than 500mb ram, so memory leak maybe?) ._.
I was using a ton of mods tho

#

I'll have to test if that replicates

gritty sage
#

VRAM is also in RAM on Linux

#

So.. That sounds reasonable if you play on high graphics settings

hasty pelican
#

yeah I'm using Ultra Textures.
so if that's true that would explain it, I guess

remote forge
#

OpenGL copies everything from vram to ram 😃 That is why 32bit version had to be limited and now from 64bit version all limitations have been lifted 😃

hasty pelican
#

wow, does it really? that seems dumb to do that, but okay

#

¯_(ツ)_/¯

remote forge
#

That is how I was told it works on OpenGL

#

Also a reason why metal 2.0 had such an impact on MAC performance as it does no such thing

hasty pelican
#

would be awesome if they could get Vulkan working then, I don't think it does that

left fog

pre-64-bit ... omg the game isn't using enough of memory

post-64-bit ... omg the game uses too much of memory

strange, seems like the parameters are also case sensitive now :b

@hidden grail I tried with -noSplash and -noPause, and it didn't do it. I guess it has some issue with loading and pausing at the same time (?)

or you could simply not minimize instantly xD

no ! I have to

I will use noPause

when I am testing stuff on the server I mostly do some console stuff during the launch of the game

@left fog It's possible to fix x axis for mouse after ATL+TAB on fullscreen ?

left fog
#

fwded

molten pulsar
#

hmm I didn't notice such a thing the other day

#

also on Fedora 26 and Gnome 3 with Xorg

#

I think it's something related to Gnome

#

for example sometimes when ALT+TAB-ing the fullscreen window won't be correct

#

there will be like a border at the top

#

ALT+TAB-ing a couple of times usually fixes it

arctic oyster
#

But i have mouse capture for player, i can fire, ect... but gui mouse capture is broken

#

And on other game, i don't have this problem

molten pulsar
#

hmm I'll check just to make sure 😃

#

nope, I can ALT+TAB just fine

#

nothing breaks for me

#

also no crash when starting the game without having the game window focused 🤔

#

unless I misunderstood what you meant

hidden grail
#

there is a bug when you have -noSplash option on

#

that causes the game crash when you Alt tab it

#

but you can add -noPause parameter, that will fix it, we already were talking about it higher in the chat

molten pulsar
#

hmm started the game with -noSplash and ALT+TAB-ed like crazy during startup but it still loaded fine

#

for me anyway

hidden grail
#

instantly allt+tab it after you hit play in steam, wait ~25 seconds and then maximize the game

hasty pelican
#

@hidden grail what window manager are you using? kwin / KDE?

hidden grail

yes

hasty pelican

I do too

maybe ...

#

kwin had also issues with some unity games with older unity version

#

all the games were caped to 30fps for me

molten pulsar

waited for a while and alt tabbed back in, no crash

#

Linux ^^

arctic oyster
#

That true -nopause fix the problem 😃 but the is on map is small bug after move.

molten pulsar
#

do you use Gnome or KDE?

arctic oyster
#

I use Gnome. On startup non-focus the game don't crash, after ATL+TAB x axis is bug. The mouse is unusable on gui.

#

The x axis is blocked to 0

molten pulsar

can you give step by step repro instructions for the x axis bug?

arctic oyster

Start you game on first screen. And on main menu change mouse on second screen. And move you mouse on arma.

molten pulsar

are you on fullscreen or borderless window?

arctic oyster

fullscreen

apparently there's no borderless window setting for the port 😛

the 32 bit version of arma is no more, there is only 64bit now (ports at least)

@emp end other programms only 350mb for other stuff used but i dont think 7.65gb vs 8 makes such a difference

hasty pelican

wow... the Titan Compact (javelin like AT launcher in Arma) sucks so friggin much... took me like 20 attemps to lock onto a non-moving target at 50-100m distance, and when it finally did the fucking rocket missed by 10-20 meters 😑

molten pulsar

were you behind some object?

hasty pelican

I was kindof hiding in a bush, but I had clear sight onto the vehicle

molten pulsar

yeah bushes may have some weird geometry that blocks the thing that locks on other things ^^

hasty pelican

I mean I thought I used those to make sure I don't miss with an RPG, but actually it would've been better if I had used a Panzerfaust...

@hasty pelican you got the version from Argo or windows Arma ?

hasty pelican

from Windows ArmA

hidden grail

ok, ty

sly rover
#

What did you do to make Combat Patrol work?

hasty pelican
#

I copied the "Argo" folder from my Windows ArmA installation and I hosted a Server and selected Combat Patrol 🤔

hasty pelican
#

made a pullrequest for ArmA3-Unix-Launcher to add Mod Presets 😄

#

for anyone using it ^-^

sly rover
#

So you loaded the argo folder as a mod?

hasty pelican
#

yes, as the executable doesn't know about the DLC yet, (it released 1.72 I think?) it doesn't auto-load it

sly rover
#

Just making sure. It is obvious that the missions by themselves do not work, as they are missing assets.

gritty sage
#

the executable doesn't contain the info about which DLC's to load. That is stored in dta/product.bin

hasty pelican
#

oh okay

#

well, but that still doesn't know about Argo DLC

sly rover
#

I am only really interested in this for multiplayer, but right now I don't want to require people to install stuff.

gritty sage
#

Is there a pressing need for TFAR on Linux yet?

sly rover
#

That depends on everyone's priorities.

#

Perhaps I'll look into plugin compatibility again. Before I couldn't get it to work at all.

#

As in, a hello world plugin didn't seem functional.

hasty pelican
#

pressing need? I don't think so.
would it be nice to have it? absolutely

gritty sage
#

Good. So I can stay calm 😄

sly rover
#

Why wouldn't you be calm?

gritty sage
#

If there were many people begging for it I would get hectic and try to get a Linux VM running 😄

hasty pelican
#

it would probably still not be a bad idea to do so 😄

sly rover
#

I have forked it and made a couple small commits so far, but I stopped working on it when I couldn't get an example extension to work.

gritty sage
#

Ouhh right

#

Does linux client have extensions now?

sly rover
#

I don't know, that is what I was saying.

gritty sage
#

Can you PM me the linux executable so I can take a look?

sly rover
#

When I said plugin compatibility, I meant extension compatibility.

#

Well tfar will definitely not work as it is now. You can see what I have on github, if you want.

#

I can even do a PR, as it shouldn't mess with Windows.

gritty sage
#

Yeah we are using Windows API for communication to teamspeak.
That was already replaced in TFAR 1.0.. still windows API but much easier to replace with the linux equivalent.

hasty pelican
#

well the offical ports page doesn't list "no extensions" as a limitation

sly rover
#

Like I said, extensions might work, but the last time I tried I couldn't get anything out of them.

#

Which was a long time ago. Like over a year.

gritty sage
#

Even if they don't.. I could probably hack something together and just push Intercept into it and use that to interface

sly rover
#

The only changes I have made so far are to change the import path separators and case, then put all the Windows specific includes into ifdefs.

#

Which still leaves it broken, because of the code to check for something online (I forgot what it was) which requires the Windows networking libraries.

#

I stopped before I looked further into that.

gritty sage
#

That was just check for update. That is optional

sly rover
#

It is probable that this functionality can just be removed at first for the Linux version to work.

#

And if you were willing, maybe replace it with a cross platform library.

gritty sage
#

Then the TS->Arma communication is windows API. which can now be quite simply replaced by linux equivalent.
And then...

#

in 1.0 3D sound is also windows stuff.. But I still have the old code from 0.9.x which worked without windows

sly rover
#

I think that last part was implemented since I last looked at it.

#

Do you mind if I make a Pull Request for changing the includes?

#

I'd first check if it is up-to-date, then you'd need to test that it still compiles on Windows, but it should be mostly harmless.

gritty sage
#

feel free to. Do that on 1.0 branch. A build on the CI server is done automatically when you create the PR

sly rover
#

Okay, I'll probably get to that later today.

gritty sage
#

I'll do a commit in a couple of minutes removing all the windows includes that are actually not needed

sly rover
#

Cool

gritty sage
#

removed all but 6.
out of which 1 is a completly unused module.
3 are optional features that can just be disabled.

the other 2 are stuff that needs to be moved to linux specific stuff. Mutex, Shared memory and cross-process events.. No Idea how the latter works on linux
just windows.h btw. There is also the Direct3D include for Audio processing

hasty pelican
#

I guess you could do audio processing with OpenAL to replace D3D?

sly rover
#

I am sort of confused as to why the 1.0 branch isn't the default.

gritty sage
#

because... That is just a workbranch. thingy..
We had our own 3D positioning code before. The switch to D3D was made because it was not accurate enough. But we the old stuff is still used for Radio speaker 3D positioning.
The D3D stuff is theoretically still in testing phase

#

I also don't have enough rights on the github repo to change default branch.

sly rover
#

Okay

#

Because normally a working branch isn't the exclusive target of development for 8 months. I wouldn't have realized if I didn't ask that 1.0 is so ahead of master.

#

I assumed it was just an old release.

#

Not a big deal, I was just curious.

#

Also, would you be opposed to adding a crossplatform build system?

#

Like cmake, for example.

gritty sage
#

if you can get it working good. No problemo ^^

sly rover
#

It would be easier for me to do that than for me to replace all the Windows code.

#

As for your own development on Linux stuff in the future, it is possible that you can use the Linux subsystem for Windows to compile stuff.

#

Which should be a lot more convenient than a VM when you don't need to test stuff.

gritty sage
#

I'm not on windows 10 ^^ And I also would need to run Teamspeak.. and not sure if that runs in the subsys

sly rover
#

Well that is why I said just for compiling.

#

Does the CI only do style checks?

#

Or am I missing something?

gritty sage
#

appveyor CI is compiling

sly rover
#

Ah, okay

#

Because Travis doesn't do Windows, right?

gritty sage
#

yep

#

will add a travis then when linux compat because a primary concern

sly rover
#

Even before then, you can add Linux but set it not to fail if Linux fails.

#

If that sounds alright to you, I may add that whenever I get to the build system.

gritty sage
#

I think we already have a travis server. Just no travis config

#

So feel free to do whatever you want

sly rover
#

You do have a config, it does a style check with a python script.

#

Or so it seems.

gritty sage
#

oh uh... could be ¯_(ツ)_/¯

#

😄

sly rover
#

Maybe it is disabled right now.

#

Okay, looks like it is only on master and release branches.

#

And there is no release branch.

#

Might want to enable there where all the development is happening :p

gritty sage
#

1.0 is supposed to be done soon™ anyway

sly rover
#

I'm putting off work on this for now, but it is encouraging to know that you are supportive of working towards tfar on Linux.

arctic oyster
#

#soon™

hidden grail

did anyone succesfully run a server with Malden ?

Wasteland on Malden does not work atm

but Exile seems to work

I got almost everything maxed out except FSAA and I got ~20fps on laptop with gtx760m 😄

on Malden

short tulip
#

If they do Vulkan for the Linux version, they might as well also do that for the Windows version and give us version parity.

hidden grail
#

if there would be vulkan version it would me made by VP not BI

short tulip
#

Hmm, good point.

molten pulsar
#

@left fog any word on callExtension support for the ports? It appears to be not working 😦

hidden grail
#

in Exile there is no loot spawning on Malden 😦

arctic oyster
#

@molten pulsar callExtension exist for me

molten pulsar
#

it exists but it fails to load extensions

arctic oyster
#

What is error log ?

molten pulsar
#

just a generic "extension" could not be loaded

#

strace doesn't show the A3 process trying to access the extension at all

arctic oyster
#

In eon.txt you don't have info of this ?

molten pulsar
#

never heard about that file

#

where would I find this?

#

nvm

arctic oyster
#

~/.local/share/bohemiainteractive/arma3

molten pulsar
#

nah doesn't say anything about it

left fog
#

@molten pulsar you can get around the callExtension on linux by using the allocator interface but it's workaround la unfoseen consequences

molten pulsar
#

no clue what that means but I guess that does mean it's a known thing? Is there any indication on whether this will be looked at at some point in time? 😃

gritty sage
#

That's exactly how I planned to inject Intercept 😄 through the allocator

#

^^

#

Which still doesn't make it less work

molten pulsar
#

this must be way over my head, how would you make a call to Intercept or any other extension that way? 😃

arctic oyster
#

The injection run and use RVExtension(), RVExtensionArgs() ?

gritty sage
#

Intercept can just RSQF at first call to it

#

and then intercept registers it's own RVExtension type function

molten pulsar
#

ah I think I get it, through the injection the extension gets loaded by the engine which then allows a callExtension since it doesn't have to lookup the extension anymore? In the case without Intercept anyway

#

or not 😁

gritty sage
#

just make every extension a intercept plugin. and call into it via RSQF.

#

Intercept will take care of loading it's plugins. So everything goes through it

molten pulsar
#

mhm I get that

#

was just wondering how it would work in the case of a "normal" extension

gritty sage
#

I don't think that would work.. using the allocator interface.
You can't directly call to it.

arctic oyster
#

Arma 3 Port use dll (mingw) or so (gcc) extension ?

gritty sage
#

you mean dll(windows),so(linux) 😄 Good question @molten pulsar
Btw can you also send me the files in the dll directory on Slack?

molten pulsar
#

no such directory ^^

gritty sage
#

any .dll or .so file?

molten pulsar
#

that's it

#

no dlls

#

if any, they're probably packed in arma3.vpfs

gritty sage
#

hmpf.. Okey.. should be easyish then :D
I guess I'll have to grab the port branch myself

#

could just inject into the BE.so 😄 for lulz

#

Good night o7 🍪 🛏 🍌

molten pulsar
#

night 😃

#

@arctic oyster probably .so since the executable is native

#

unless it does some wine-esque stuff

sly rover
#

Well eON is some sort of translation layer.

#

But I am not sure that many people outside of VP know how it really works.

#

Anyway, I'm glad that someone besides me has not been able to get callExtension to work. That means I probably wasn't doing something wrong.

arctic oyster
#

@molten pulsar It question, because on server it natively but on client owned by eon. To convert D3D to OpenGL, Windows filesystem to unix filesystem, emulate windows register, ect...

#

D3D function*

molten pulsar
#

yeah I'm not sure how native the port is

#

it's basically wine

#

so probably DLLs

#

which kinda complicates things since you can't use any platform dependent code

#
  1. because it doesn't have access to Linux/Mac systems
  2. because their wine-ish layer probably doesn't have whatever you're trying to use implemented
#

(they only implement what's required by the game, apparently)

#

if my thinking is correct 🤔

gritty sage
#

Nope... You already said it's using .so steam_api and battleye

#

so I guess it's using that... And that is definetly linux format.

arctic oyster
#

I don't think. Wine emulate windows build., he don't run so, only dll's. But eON is for build windows game for unix. So eON have possibility to run so and dll.

#

dll for me is BOOL APIENTRY DllMain( HMODULE hModule, DWORD ul_reason_for_call, LPVOID lpReserved) { switch (ul_reason_for_call) { case DLL_PROCESS_ATTACH: case DLL_THREAD_ATTACH: case DLL_THREAD_DETACH: case DLL_PROCESS_DETACH: break; } return TRUE; }

gritty sage
#

Yes... That's a windows dllmain

molten pulsar
#

well wine, for example, uses .so libraries to get it running and what not but the apps being loaded by wine can only do DLLs

sly rover
#

eON is not Wine

molten pulsar
#

no but it's similar

#

read the link above

sly rover
#

I am fully aware that it is similar.

molten pulsar
#

in my mind it means that arma3.x86_64 is native and loads the BattlEye stuff in a way so that A3 can interact with it (or the other way around) and then it wraps the Windows A3 etc, which means DLLs

cursive oasis
#

that apps under wine can only use dlls is not correct - when you can compile them you can access unix apis directly through winelib

sly rover
#

And Dwarden told us specifically that the Linux client can use the allocator interface, so I'm pretty sure that what Dedmen wants to do is possible.

#

Especially considering this is the first time I've seen any comment on it that wasn't random speculation from someone outside of BI/VP.

molten pulsar
#

ah winelib, didn't know that ^^

#

alright, I'll consider myself wrong until proven otherwise 😁

arctic oyster
gritty sage
#

@arctic oyster As was already written here multiple times. Extensions don't work. What you linked works on the Linux server. Not on the client port

arctic oyster
#

@gritty sage Yes, but he as mentionned than it possible via allocator interface.

arctic oyster
#

@gritty sage You have exemple usage of this ? And --malloc=system doesn't help callExtension or is by default ?

gritty sage
#

No. And it won't make callExtension possible.

hiho, can anyone remind me or give me a link for how to load mods?

arctic oyster

It's same on Windows, copy paste folder on base arma dir and go on main menu > Options > Expansions > select your mod > Enable > Restart and enjoy 😃

dusk ermine

i mean i subscribed to some mods on the workshop, but they doesnt show in options>expansions just 1 empty blanck slots and the official ones

add -mod=/the/path/to/the/workshop/folder/thingy to your startup settings in steams

@dusk ermine ln -s /opt/realfile /opt/linkfile

@left fog For PBO, are you going add support unix path with folder/file ?

gritty sage

@StidOfficial#6777 what do you mean with PBO?

hidden grail

is there any way how to convert some image file into .ppa on linux ?

gritty sage

Armake can do that

havent heard about it before

thanks, will try it

@left fog My game crash and i don't have CrashReporter windows. eON.txt : [thread 00000002][I][1577718]: Exiting through Windows call TerminateProcess() with exit code -1073740777 (0xc0000417) [thread 00000001][I][1577760]: ===enforcing log flush=== [thread 00000001][I][1577760]: Log system shutdown

gritty sage
#

I know the PBO format.. but how is that connected with unix paths?

arctic oyster
#

@gritty sage filename use backslash. It for use normale slash. For no convert slash to backslash and reverse.

gritty sage
#

But you only use backslash in PBO's.. No matter what system you are on

#

So I don't see a reason adding the unix. As there is already a standart everywhere and you don't have to convert anything and you also can't mix it up

arctic oyster
#

If y pack /opt/folder/filename to pbo, folder\filename. It's just for non convert slash to blackslash in pbo.

Westland is cool 2 sec after this is shitting.

sly rover

But with a name like that, I feel like Wasteland shouldn't even be an option.

It isn't that big a deal to me, but I don't think it is fitting.

hasty pelican
#

eww, Wasteland

#

never seen it on the server tbh, I thought it runs liberation 24/7 xD

sly rover

It doesn't have a set rotation, so the first person who joins it gets to pick what is played.

And it has a lot of options. Usually Altis liberation is picked, but the rest of the time it is often Wasteland.

hasty pelican
#

oh okay.

hasty pelican

did you ever have the problem of steam just not downloading workshop mods?
I mean it shows in the list, it even says the download is going, but steam is simply not loading anything!
and nah, it's not my internet...

covert quiver
#

i also couldnt, because the download rate was going down to under 100KB/s, but dnsmasq fixed it

hasty pelican

yeah, it's like a heartbeat, every 5 or so seconds it downloads a few bytes at like 60bytes/s for liek 2 seconds, then waits another 5...

Uuuuuuh.... How?

scenic sleet
#

So finally back home and I was able to take the latest linux version for a test drive. Immense improvement in performance, I was able to run it at 4K with everything on Ultra and still maintain 35+ FPS in single player (this was previously impossible). I'm not seeing any issues with textures, or LODs. The responsiveness when turning was so good that it actually caused me to dial down the mouse sensitivity so that I didn't get virtual whiplash

#

I've yet to see how it performs in MP, I expect performance to drop and I'll probably have to tweak the settings accordingly, but this is a really great boost

hasty pelican
#

yeah performance in Multiplayer isn't great, even on Windows, so don't expect the improvement to be as impactful in MP as in SP :)

scenic sleet
#

well simply being able to play in 4K (or 2560x1440) in MP would be nice. That was impossible due to the texture memory limits in the older build

rain flint

the day there is koth by samatra..

arctic oyster
#

KOTH is bullshit. It's same of altislife. This missons create juste money and nothing anymore ^^. Is not a prority for ports 😄

sly rover
#

So I've made a small update in features but a big update under the hood to Asma (an Arma 3 launcher).

#

It might even be possible for it to work on macOS.

#

Which is probably not new, I just mention that because this channel isn't just for Linux.

#

By update, I actually mean rewrite.

dusk ermine
#

whats meson, ninja and gtk? i need to install that first and later follow the installing instructions?

sly rover
#

Yes

#

Eventually I'll try to write more detailed instructions that are specific to distros in the wiki.

#

I think it is really messy to have that stuff in the readme.

#

Meson is a build system. Ninja is a low level build system used as a backend. GTK is the GUI toolkit used by things like GIMP and Gnome (and tons of others).

sly rover
#

Also, in most cases installing Meson should also install Ninja.

arctic oyster
#

You doesn't like Makefile ?

sly rover
#

Nope

#

It is funny. My first contribution to Asma was a cmake config, because it had no build system then.

#

Then I experimented with other things. Meson actually annoys me a bit sometimes, because CMake + Ninja (instead of the Make backend) can often do the same things better.

#

And CMake has a way better backend for Windows users.

#

Autotools is nice for getting projects to compile on more obscure platforms.

#

But for an Arma 3 launcher for Linux (and maybe macOS), neither of those things are a concern.

#

So Meson does alright. It is certainly a lot faster than Make, which is useful when developing it.

sly rover
#

If your favorite distro isn't there and you are lost, let me know and I'll get around to adding it.

This means cross-platform compatibility in multiplayer. However, please note that this is only temporary and the branches will again part ways with the Tac-Ops release

hasty pelican

but hey, enjoy 2 weeks of version parity!

short tulip
#

I wonder if we will have version parity again after the split.

I wonder if the impending split itself will be temporary.

hasty pelican

I'm pretty sure we will. we'll just be delayed.
And at least with the final update to A3 we will be...

let's hope BI will be able to put some magic in for ArmA4 so that it will run native/can be ported faster, as it will run on their new Enfusion engine, iirc
but ArmA4 is probably still a long way from now :b

arctic oyster

I have not continue for port pbo hide. But i think is possible.

molten pulsar
#

including your fellow Linux/Mac users ^^

#

and the port

arctic oyster
#

Yes, how long for this temporary cross-platform ?

sly rover
#

The 30th is when Tac Ops comes out.

#

After that, we will have to wait for an update to bring us back.

#

No idea how long it will take, but in theory it wouldn't be a ton of work.

#

Either way, it would break again with the Tanks DLC.

#

Which is the last big thing planned by BI.

arctic oyster
#

You have more information, why is temporary ? Security ? Prevent for crash server by ports client ? Tac Ops does't seem touch on network system.

gritty sage
#

Because most engine changes need to be ported. And it usually takes quite some time for that to happen.
The linux/mac version is not temporary. But it's version matching the current windows version is

spring kite
#

One question i can play with win players now?

#

If i knew about this update i would buy more RAM 😄

arctic oyster
#

@gritty sage I talk about, the mp cross-platefrom is temporary. The client update, doesn't all time affect network communication and mostly with missions DLC.

gritty sage
#

Every major version increment means the versions are incompatible. Even if nothing changed in the engine.

arctic oyster
#

Okey, it's their system. For exemple HTTP server based on HTTP/1.1 accept HTTP/0.9 and HTTP/1.0. I think it same possibility for arma.

sly rover
#

@spring kite Yes, you can play with Windows users right now.

#

HTTP is a little bit less complicated than realtime game networking.

spring kite
#

downloading the game i wanted to play king of hill for 2 years 😃

sly rover
#

And by "a little bit," I mean "significantly."

arctic oyster
#

Packed id system, is a possible. You can add new packet id and he don't affect another packets. And it's is used by lot of game.

arctic oyster
#

Anyone have test new update ?

gritty sage
#

It doesn't happen that often that anything on the netcode changes at all. It's just that everyone should play on the same version because.. stuff

sly rover
#

Lots of us have been playing since yesterday. Scroll up and you will see that.

spring kite
#

how much RAM arma consumes on windows servers?

gritty sage

I don't see why asking a windows server question in the channel for linux/mac client would make any sense

arctic oyster

The mouse issues he don't resolved :(. I have 11G update but i have 1.76.000000 and i can't play on win releases 😦

spring kite

@gritty sage i mean on client side when playing on linux machine

arctic oyster

Anyway thanks for the cool update will have fun on weekend

arctic oyster

My arma work perfectly and memory editing it same 😄

smoky crater
#

@arctic oyster what mouse issues?

uneven locust
#

I don't understand, I mean if the port to 1.76 work why is only temporary?

hasty pelican
#

because windows will get update 1.78 before we do

uneven locust
#

so?

hasty pelican
#

so 1.78 does not work with 1.76

uneven locust
#

yeah but at least now we have the 1.76 version no?

hasty pelican
#

yes

uneven locust
#

so I repeat my first question XD

hasty pelican
#

we have 1.76 ; we can play with windows people
windows people get 1.78
we do not get 1.78
we cannot play with windows people anymore
#temporary

uneven locust
#

Yeah but the 1.76 work so why downgrade?

hasty pelican
#

what?

uneven locust
#

And we can also use the Laws of war DLC
