I hadn't actually posted it in the old showcase channel, I've made a small package a while ago, that I need for my thesis to conform to my univeristy's style guide.
With anti-matter you can number your back matter and front matter independently from your main document content (notice the page numbering in the screenshot), it is already available as a package.
Check out the repo, if you're interesed in using it, it's well suited for thesis or book page numbering and I tried to keep it's setup non-intrusive so it works with other packages.
If you have questions, feel free to ask me directly, I've only tested it on small reports I've written myself yet.
