I have my own criticisms about other aspects of the game, but he's easily the worst part of it. Straight up lifted from Superliminal, adds nothing and ruins any atmosphere the game could've had. All he does is say "uhm you've wandered off or saw something scary... that shouldn't have happened!"
I sound like I'm being reductive and simplistic but this is really how it is. It's easily the worst part of the game for me and takes me entirely out of the vibe.
