Tried Hermes with the token router provider, used opus 4.5 and 4.7 for a small code understanding and bug fix it couldn't fix the bug and looped 30 turns on Opus compounds fast and it cost me $12 across 30 calls = ~$0.40/turn! the context is again piling up for every turn!

Right now, that sounds like you chose some sort of auto router from a provider, it used some turns and you're not happy with their model choices. I would just not do that and pin a model you want to use. Please indicate where the bug is and provide logs if you can. I'm not seeing a bug from what you presented.
