could you try restarting the gateway first and then test it again?
run:
hermes gateway restart
then try the same Discord message one more time
if it still fails after the restart, please paste the relevant lines from:
~/.hermes/logs/gateway.log
especially the lines right around the failed Discord reply

one follow-up: if your Hermes install is not current, please update and try again
there were recent Kimi fixes on main, so updating is worth trying here
if it still fails after update + restart, then set:
KIMI_BASE_URL=https://api.kimi.com/coding/v1
in ~/.hermes/.env and test again
