Currently, ships can only be sold on the market and cannot be gifted or even sold to a specific player. If we want to help a guild member by providing them with a ship, we have to charge them for it and put it on the market, risking someone else snapping it up right out of their pocket, even though it was meant for them.
The idea of making a player pay to do us a favor doesn't seem fair to me.
Similarly, this makes guilds completely useless for shipbuilding. We can't establish supply chains because each intermediary has to pay out of pocket since we can't simply trade... which makes the cost of the operation extremely high and transforms the guild system into something more than useless, not to mention a mistake!
What can be done? Make resources and ships tradable between players in the same guild without having to pay a minimum price or tax.
Without this, crafting will never be useful to guilds, as it's far too expensive per intermediary to make a viable supply chain.
Or simply create a guild bank where members can donate resources.
