Your library version remains, it just disappears from purchase iirc. Though game publishers can edit those games, like GTA (and I think some other racing game) famously removed some songs they didn't want to pay royalties for anymore.
You can choose to install updates, but for most people it's automatic... so things that remove those songs would still happen regardless b/c it's an 'update'

You can theoretically back up your steam library, and install as many as you can... but it would probably not be very easy to keep those backups fresh over long periods of time 10-20 years+ (bit rot is real)

The DRM question is more of a grey area, but it has been successfully used to go after the people who created tools to let people copy DVDs and BluRays instead of 'record' (b/c they actually encrypt the content).
