Not exactly. It will generate an image based on a search if you’re on web (not mobile) but it has to be an image related to a search. You can’t prompt it to create and then subsequently modify an image the way you can in ChatGPT.

Hiya, I’m absolutely in love with Perplexity and since I subscribed to Pro version, I’ve stopped using Google browser at all. I mostly use Perplexity for making AI chatbot prompts for character.ai or ask some technical questions - for example on how to connect VR (Oculus) to the laptop so my son could stream his gameplay on his YT channel. It saved me from having to read through forums, articles and watching tutorial videos lol. Thank you 😅

Hi! I've been using the Pro version of Perplexity (GPT4 Turbo) for about 2 months, after switching from ChatGPT Plus. I found it via an article in my Google new feed. I use it partly as a search engine replacement and partly for informal research using discourse analysis to deconstruct cultural discourses in a specific (unnamed 😉 ) topic. It's particularly great as a research tool, especially as I find I can use some of the references directly in my work (particularly high-quality academic papers). I haven't yet used it for analysis of articles I am writing, but expect to do so, although I'm not sure whether it will match ChatGPT Plus (v4 Turbo) in that regard.

I've been comparing paid versions of LLM's for quite sometime (GPT4, Grok, Claude Opus, etc), and like that with Perplexity Pro I can specify which LLM to reference. I also use Perplexity for research and its referencing of source material is a great time saver. My original research topics were in artificial intelligence and expert systems and I wrote a dissertation and several research articles around those topics. With the AI winter, I changed research topics and moved on to other areas. However, with the introductions of LLMs like ChatGPT and applications like Perplexity, my interest in this area has been rekindled and I would once again like to investigate and examine the developments and impacts of these models and applications. In studying about all the different types of AI models, I found Perplexity AI seems to be especially useful in researching any topic of interest. Therefore, I want to learn much more about Perplexity AI and how to utilize it most effectively.

I recently encountered an issue with Perplexity. I asked it to make revisions to a draft of a chapter I have been working on. It completed the requested revisions, but when I asked for it to present the completed chapter revisions, with references and citations, it cut off about half way through the Conclusion, and did not provide references or citations. Has any one else encountered this issue, and know how to address it?

It came down to a choice between ChatCPT and Perplexity. Although ChatGPT allows building private and custom Models, I think Perplexity is the more useful AI out of the gate. I am a lawyer but was discussing issues with accountants. I was able to get some answers , with sources that I read. I was able to find the flaws in the accountants prepared documents. Needless to say , Perplexity proved its worth... I mean big time ....
I researched among other things, foreign tax credits as they apply to investment income versus passive income in connection with the sale of a buiness.... the accountant was screwing up the calculations in connection with eligible and refundable dividends

Hi everyone, my name is Anthony. I've been living with dibilitating long term neurological symptoms from a Traumatic Brain Injury for over a decade. Among several symptoms such as migraines, limited eye function, light sensitivity, my Executive Functioning is hypoactive in all measures.
I just got the results of my functional MRI where I run through a series of puzzles and memory tests while undergoing an MRI and have all this as medical evidence which proves to myself, doctors, and family beyond my subjective opinion that my cognitive abilities are damaged.
One of my vision therapists who mentioned to me I might have executive function disorder recommended I start using AI to aid me in day to day tasks. After trying many different LLM AI's I've narrowed it down to ChatGPT and Perplexity. I use ChatGPT to have back and forth conversations and I've due to my new medical findings I've subscribed for a Perplexity Pro account. Having the insight of current referenced based results gives me clarity to any trouble thinking through my brain fog. For this Navy vet, I'm so grateful for the follow up questions that Perplexity provides help me overcome and relieve the stress and lack of understanding I often face. Thank you, for making this product and helping me get through life as I continue to recover.
