#So... the Steam F12 screenshot key does

hey there, I confirmed that I could take the screenshot using F12 here.
Is this an issue where the screenshot simply doesn't appear despite having the feedback from Steam that the screenshot was taken? Or do you not get any reaction from the F12 button while in-game?

Oh hi! Thank you much for replying!
I press F12, and there is no pop-up, no notification sound, and no sign of any screenshot on the Steam UI or in the screenshot folder. Simply not working (no sign of anything happening whatsoever).
I verified the screenshot key is still set right in Steam. I even tried moving it to a different key.
It works on every other game.
I can -manually- take a Steam screenshot via playback of the new Steam Recording feature, but that way is considerably slower to do constantly.
Perhaps also worth noting, the Steam Overlay is active and working, and other Steam Shortcut keys work, such as "Add a timeline marker" (for Steam recording) shortcut key.

yeah, that was going to be my next question. The Steam overlay is otherwise intact, then.
Are you playing in windowed mode or full screen?
Offline mode or online mode?

Full screen typically, but I did test it in windowed, still nothing.
I'll give a hosted session a quick shot.

Whew, took a bit od digging through my computer's settings, but finally found the HDR setting... it's completely off.
My monitor doesn't support HDR. So it's definitely not set to HDR10 scRGB. 🙂

One other thing that I noticed. When I push the screenshot key WITH the Steam overlay up, it works (which is worthless, because of the UI and darkened filter covering the game). It's only when the focus is -purely- on the game, that it doesn't work. Like the game itself is blocking that one shortcut function (not the key, I even swapped around keys and F12 works for other shortcut functions, but whichever key I assign to taking screenshots, it doesn't work).
I'm really digging and searching, trying to figure this one out.

Sorry to dig up this "old" topic - but i had exactly the same issue!
I wasnt able to take any screenshots in Enshrouded anymore.
Good thing - i figured it out.
There is a windows function called "game bar" (which i didnt even know about). You can bring it up with Windows-Key + G.
There is an option called HDR. It was turned of for me. I turned it on, started Enshrouded and was able to do screenshots again with F12 (at least in the menu).
But the picture is washed out and i didnt want to use it. So i turned it off again. And the F12 key now still works.
