No, the process should still be the same.
If you don't mind some basic troubleshooting first, the version you both have is the same, correct? You can see that on the bottom left of the screen as you start the game and land on the main menu

It's not. Thanks for asking!!
We logged out twice and completely shut down the game and PCs. Third time around... it magically worked.

I'm struggling now because I think I might have lost all my game data trying to do the resource world thing.

I created 10 worlds first.

Go to Steam > Library > Enshrouded > Properties > General > Then toggle steam cloud off

Turned steam cloud off.

Then copy pasted the downloaded files into my Saved Games/Enshrouded folder

Launched the game and everything is gone. I don't even have my characters. But no other instructions were given. So I don't understand what step I am missing. Do I need to turn Steam cloud back on?

I figured it out.

Steam Cloud has been ON (by default) so I needed to copy everything in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR_STEAM_USER_ID\1203620\remote
and paste it into
C:/Users/YOUR_WINDOWS_USERNAME/Saved Games/Enshrouded
