Hey thanks! I'm looking at colocation option but the main thing i don't understand is how power requirements are billed. I live in germany and looking for colocation options in Berlin. Never dealt with that before but I've been owning multiple dedicated over the past 10 years.

I'm looking for example at https://www.scaleuptech.com/en/colocation/ or https://23m.com/en/colocation
They mention power provisioning / grid connection capacity in VA or W.
Does this mean that it's a flat rate and I would be limited to 50W or 150W, and couldn't go above, or is it something different? This seems very low and very expansive per extra 50W

normally you get so many AMPs/WATTS of power for the space you rent. You then have to make sure your servers stay within that limit else you will get an overage bill.

In the UK my colocation is 20amps and it's roughly 1.5 amps per server I put in

Ok, thanks, i'll take it with the colocation companies to understand a bit better the overage costs. 30 EUR per month for an extra 50W sounds pretty expensive, but it's hard to find different sources.
I'm guessing it makes sense to book power in line with your server's power supply?
