for short: don't wait for it to come out in 3 years at minimum
Now, is it possible? Pretty much is, as someone already did it back in the playtest days (using LAN connection like Radmin and similar)
Still, we've been told the devs had a small talk with other devs from a multiplayer race game, which as you may guess, has real time physics on it
Using splitscreen on this EA already gives a fatal error 90% of the time, disregarding your hardware
Don't even bother tbh
It basically works only on the arena mode with or without NPC spawn. Everything else is just performance issues x2
This is something exclusive for DX12, by some reason it keeps the stutter of a heavily textured area/armour from a previous round, and somehow carries it to other rounds until fatal error kicks in
if you don't mind constant lagspikes (and 20% performance in the slum), DX11 does wonders to your framerate with larger crowds with armor and simply every map available
