To fix this go into properties for half sword and in the general tab disable the cloud saving option. It makes the game save with your local files not through steam it self. Also just to be safe exit progression with exit to menu or press the train guy and leave through free play and then leave. You will also have to delete your local GameProgress.sav after you disable steamcloud because it is corrupted. then play again to generate a new one.
