I think with the nanite plugin in UE5, the trees should have a lot simpler geometry when they're farther away and you don't have to use "billboards" to optimize them. I don't know if they're using nanite though

i dont believe so even if they were with the foliage it prob wouldnt even help because a map thats like 100x by 100x is still being loaded
