QOL/UI :

The biggest drawback for me is the lighting, especially the overuse of dynamic lighting which makes three-quarters of the fights too dark (in addition to potentially causing performance issues). It might be a design choice for immersion, but I find it rather poor; even in the demo I was trying to avoid shadows.

The other issue is the menus, particularly the "free play" menu. Inventory management is rather cumbersome; items aren't sorted or even categorized.
A possible improvement (this is purely my opinion) would be to revert to a system similar to the demo, with the old "randomize" button and a "customize" button for equipment.

In summary, in terms of interface, this early access version should have been an extension of the demo; consequently, most people consider it a step backward, and rightly so in some respects.

Performances:

-# I'll be brief, there are over 300 topics, half of which are about this, and I know work on this issue is ongoing.
On the court map, in 1v1, my performance is roughly equivalent to the demo (around 100 FPS with the "high" preset), but it depends on the time of day. I mentioned the overuse of dynamic lighting earlier, so it's possible that's related.
I have an AMD 6900XT GPU (RDNA 2), factory settings, no overclocking.

Gameplay:

On this point, I'm satisfied; it recaptures the feel of the demo, and I'm eagerly awaiting the new game modes. My only regret is that we can't see team battles in advance; being able to recruit mercenaries before a team fight would be a plus.

Random stuff:

  • On the forest map, sometimes there's loot to collect from the cart, but it's very difficult to reach inside to get it.
  • The "muddy" map has a slippery track; it might seem like a bug, but slightly adjusting the collision (so that feet sink in slightly) could make this effect more intuitive.
  • Get equipment/collectible from crates is sometimes complicated; in the demo, a simple kick could remove the lid, but that's no longer the case.
