Pancakes should be used as a form of healing/one of the healing items you can acquire as a funny joke/reference to the comics
I think it would be cool to be able to play in a top down/isometric style (I know hat other people don't like Isometric style but I loved the way they used it in West of Dead and Hard West); An example of this is in Dragon Age where you can swap between a third person point of view to a view of the entire battleground.
