#G-Sync support with an Nvidia GPU results in terrible VRR flickering

Pretty much that, but also might start feeling fenerally stuttery — not sure how much that is anything other than a side effect of flickering.

Is there just no way to use the G-Sync support option properly on an NVIDIA GPU? The flickering is just as bad no matter the options, and it's not even tied to FG — it will flicker just the same if just using scaling.

I remember last time having an issue similar to this — turning on LS made GPU usage drop hard. Back then, it was because of low latency mode turned on in Nvidia control panel; now though it wasn't turned on in the first place, and even setting on/ultra doesn't change anything either. Also this flickering persists even when the GPU does actually reach 100 percent usage.

And the flickering persists with initially low GPU usage with a capped in-game framerate, yes. Even if it is a very low cap. No difference to uncapped — not any better.

I have fixed it, eventually. Can freely enable G-Sync support, G-Sync actually works, no flickering, and doesn't stutter

#

But I really do not know what exactly that I've done did it

#

I am running specifically 581.94 drivers installed through nvcleanstall with nothing but the driver and control panel

#

I did also use OverlayTestMode = 4 trick, maybe helps

#

definitely not turning off HAGS, lsfg clearly performs worse without it

#

just default settings for LS in NVCP, except layered over dxgi y'know

#

did also turn on MSI mode without High priority
