So I use to use a display cable 1.4 and just now decided to change that to HDMI 2.1 for the better bandwidth and higher bit depth (12), since my monitor supports it.

I never play with HDR anyway so I've always turned it off in both windows and ls.

The screen seemed a little more washed out with the HDMI than the Display cable but that can easily be fixed on the monitor.

Could it be that because HDMI doesn't have Display Stream compression that it causes that effect?

So it happens no matter what the window is.
BUT when I turn ON HDR support in ls, the window has regular colors.
Problem is, HDR is off in windows.

I've noticed that happens with color management enabled

#

Check in Settings > System > Display > Color management
