#how ls works? ๐Ÿ˜‚

I will just give you a simple explanation. This app only works in borderless windowed or windowed mode (no exclusive fullscreen). After setting to one of these two in game there is nothing you should be worried about. In lossless scaling app there are game profiles section, you can add your games there and set settings for them individually. Whatever you set in default profile is carried to custom game profiles. You need to change it from there. I recommend leaving scaling mode options on default which are automatic and aspect ratio. Right side of these options there are upscaling techniques. I only know ones for games. For games you should use either ls1 or amd fsr option. You change your game's resolution to a lower value (if you use aspect ratio option you need to set a 16:9 resolution or whatever your aspect ratio is). These options upscale your lower resolution image to native resolution which will look better than resolution you set to but not as good as native resolution. It gives your performance. In frame generation options you should always use lsfg 2.3 if dont have any issues with it. Then you select a mode x2,x3 or x4. These are values your base fps is multiplied with. If you cap your fps to 30 x2 is 60, x3 is 90, x4 is 120 fps. They will look as smooth as you have that much fps natively(there may be artefacts). If you dont have gsync you should cap your fps to half of your refresh rate to get the most smooth experience (for x2 mode, for other modes cap accordingly). You can cap your fps in nvidia control panel or in rtss. If you dont cap your fps and you use vsync, when you have more than half of your refresh rate same frames are discarded and you will experience stutter. You dont want that. If you have gsync, i found that capping at 1 fps below you cap normally works in gsync. If you have 60 hz monitor for example for x2 you should cap at 29 instead of 30. That way gsync works. There is sync option there for gsync users i recommend leaving it allowtear

option. You wont get tearing when you cap 1 fps below to what you would cap normally. If you want to use vsync just enable that option there. You can leave it at default it will cap your fps to refresh rate anyway. Leave max frame latency on 1. If you have gsync enable gsync option. You should enable draw fps option to check if lossless scaling is working or not. It shows two fps when you enable it with frame gen. First is base fps second is fps with generated frames. There is capturing mode you should leave it at dxgi. Other than that i leave cursor and other options at default values. If you have more than one gpu select the gpu you want to use ls with. In lossless frame generation there is an option called performance mode. If you enable it you get a little bit worse image quality with frame gen but you get a performance boost to your fps. You can enable it if you want. Warning, if your gpu usage in game is at 90s or close to that, you should cap to a lower fps so that your gpu utilization gets lower. If you use frame generation with high gpu utilization your fps will get so low and your latency will be higher. I suggest using an upscaling technique then to lower gpu usage.

Any questions? ๐Ÿ˜„

I have a 144hz, so if I choose a game that runs at 60fps I have to set just to borderless and set 2x or 3x right?( Ps. Capped to 60fps or 72fps )

For games capped at 60 in engine level, If you have gsync you should use 2x mode. if you enable 3x you will get stuttering. If game have no cap in engine level you should cap it to 72 (This is when you dont have gsync. If you have gsync you should cap at 71 then x2 to enable gsync) These are when you dont want to go over refresh rate. If you dont mind going over refresh rate (in this case no gsync) you can set any fps cap then use x2 or x3 (fps divided evenly to your refresh rate will feel better). For 60 fps game in this case you can go for x3 from 60 to 180. I recommend capping at 60 fps even though there is a cap in engine level (cap for better frame pacing).

If you tell me you use gsync or not i can give you better and shorter answers.

no my pc doesnt have gsync screen

#

its a laptop btw

Best option for you would be using 60x3 for 60 fps locked games. If not locked 72 to 144 (using default sync mode) if you can hit that fps.

like elden ring?

gusty brook
#

Yes 60x3

#

With capping fps to 60 to get better frame pacing

west jolt
#

if i cap it to 60 is the same?

gusty brook
#

It is not same since frame pacing would be much better and it will feel much smoother than without cap. You can think of it as when you play 30 fps at ps4 you get much better experience than you play 30 fps in pc. That is the same thing

mhhhhhh

#

Big problem

#

Tried with destiny 2 ( Now I have only that game I have to download others ) the FPS are locked at 40 fps when i activate it

#

Used capped at 100fps 60 and 72

#

Same problem

#

Shows like 47/47

#

I tried borderless but I have to try window mode

#

ook it works

#

thank you ๐Ÿ˜˜

west jolt
#

another thing

#

if i cap the game until 60 fps ls works

#

but if i want like 144 fps and i cap it to 72 fps doesnt work
