#FPS Drops and Freezing

In every game where I use Lossless, after about 5 minutes, the FPS start to drop, and the game freezes. If I do ALT-TAB and return to the game, the performance goes back to normal, but after 5 minutes, it freezes again. Sometimes, the whole PC freezes, and the screen stays stuck on the last frame of the game. My PC specs are i5 8400 and GTX 1060 3GB.

From the NVIDIA Control Panel:

I have disabled Low Latency Mode.
Changed "Vulkan/OpenGL present method" to "Prefer layer on DXGI Swapchain."
Set Prefer Maximum Performance.
Set Vertical Sync (V-Sync) to Fast (I use G-Sync in both windowed and full screen modes).
I also noticed in Task Manager that while the game was frozen, Lossless Scaling was using 0% of the CPU, so I decided to increase its priority.

I searched online for solutions, but everyone with this issue seems unable to fix it... Any advice?

I'm not 100% sure but in my case, those freezes were related to my gpu running out of vram

#

i have a 1650 4gb (laptop) and i couldn't run batman arkham knight without it freezing after a short while

#

i reduced the texture quality in game which free'd up some vram, and used lsfg 1 instead

#

that reduced the performance drops/freezes significantly

#

but my vram still filled up later so i had to close the game

X3 and HDR can both use a lot of VRAM, especially HDR mode. Its description states it uses twice as much vram to run ls with. You might have a vram bottleneck unfortunately
