You can set a higher Desktop resolution and then just use borderless fullscreen or windowed in games

This way lossless scaling will target a higher resolution too. If you set your game at 1440p and set in LS1 scale factor custom 1.33 (1080p->1440p) you can achive better quality with better performance.
also use dldsr if you have the option
It works, but when you increase the resolution of the monitor, the frequency is limited to 60Hz, which is not favorable for me. The solution would be to buy a 2k monitor unfortunately.
you can have the same refresh rate actually. I have 144hz 1440p
but my base monitor is 1080x1920

change the resolution from the nvidia control panel. when you select the resolution you will also see the refresh rate to the right
