#What about x1.5 mode or something like that?

More real frames means less artifacts. So what if there is a mode producing no double or triple the fps but less than double.

For example i want 120fps but my card can only produce 90. Now i lock my fps to 60 to have 120 with x2 mode. What if we have a mode to make 90 to 120 with less artifacts.

That would create very bad pacing and general inconsistencies because instead of 1real->1generated->1real you will have all kind of skips that would make it worst rather than better. Stuff like 1real->1generated->1real ->1real->1generated->1real will only make the things worst as presentation

hmm yeah i know what you mean

dlss 3 produce double the fps or less/

?

at the moment dlss, fsr, and LS frame gens all work 1real->1generated->1real

#

enabling the fg eats additional resources, so in the dlss fg demo videos you can see the person getting 70 fps pre-fg

#

but after fg they get ~120

oh ok

that is because additional GPU resources are used for the FG algo to work, and due to that the real fps of the game falls to 60, so when interpolated it goes to 120

#

I think that was the simples way to explain it

#

otherwise it is a lot more technical

it would be nice if we can have 1 real-1 real-1 real - 1 generated somehow

it can probably be done, but as previously stated- it will break how the game feels because it will constantly be going up and down as a framerate due to the uneven frames

#

so it would be actually useless

smooth fractional can be done but you don't typically want to especially for a game which isn't constant framerate

#

2.5x for example would delete and replace every second real frame
