I've had a few games now, mostly bunny, and I have to say I'm enjoying myself. Despite its lack of polish and bugs I find it fun to play, I want to play it, which isn't something I can say for a lot of games these days. It fits right into that aesthetic I enjoy that I like to call "twisted childhood," the kind I ascribe to the likes of Tim Burton.

There are a few critiques I have though, and suggestions to make to possibly alleviate them.

Now, on with the show!

Bunny Gameplay

  • Wildly inconsistent with heavy reliance on the RNG of items. Jack and the toolbox seem to try and alleviate it somewhat, but it's limited in that the item you get is still random and may not be what you want.
  • Fairly unengaging gameplay loop consisting of primarily finding and carrying heavy cogs, often long distances. It heavily relies on RNG how easy it is to locate a cog and get it to where it's needed. Other machines are much simpler by comparison and are much less engaging.
This could be fixed by adding additional forms of mechanisms for the bunnies to interact with, or optional tasks that reward the bunnies in some way.
  • Teamwork is extremely important for bunnies, but the communication pings are often neglected, and the size of the map can make it difficult to react to the pings in a meaningful manner. It's often easy to get lost and not be able to find the pathway up if it isn't more clearly marked. Getting separated is inevitable if the Magician chooses to throw you down to the lower floors.
Something to create a marker that can be more clearly seen by teammates to mark important objects or areas such as gates and ropes would be helpful.
  • Collection of meta-currencies such as crafting materials and gears requires you to intentionally sabotage yourself by limiting your inventory space, reducing your already slim chances of escaping even further.
My suggestion is to add a secondary inventory that only takes these meta-currencies so that you don't have to make that choice.
