How do i make canards like on the gripen?

So, you know the gripen? You know, a british jet (if im correct) and im interested in making self stabilising canards.. yeah.

The Gripen is Swedish, made by Saab and partners in various countries.
And for the canard, you could just use tail-type control surfaces. The tail fin standard canard in particular has about the right shape.
