Im having trouble understanding their range calculation. If i have an omnidirectional antenna rated at 2.5Mm, and a dish antenna rated at say 20Mm, can the omnidirectional antenna communicate with the dish antenna between the distance of 2.5Mm to 20Mm, or am i always limited to 2.5Mm?
And if i upgrade my tracking station from say lvl 1 to lvl 2, which increases the GSN power significantly, does it boost the range for omnidirectional antennas if they are trying to communicate directly to ksc?
The more powerful omnidirectional antennas are locked away very late in the tech tree, so i essentially have to always carry a dish antenna if i want to go any distance beyond 2.5Mm from kerbin or any relay, which is quite annoying for me.
