Currently the starlab pauses with every change of the biome, this results in having to constantly activate it to progress the science which is makes for a irritating experience, especially since the lab has to deploy before progress continues. I thought of three ways to resolve this system.
First idea is each bio has its own survey progress and so you can activate it and progress never stops and is made depending on which biomes the starlab passes.
The second idea is progress never pauses and whatever biome starlab finishes on is the science you collect.
The third idea is separate deployment from activating science progress so the lab is ready immediately when the biome changes.

i thought they fixed that with 0.2.1? if you're still experiencing that bug, check your version, and if it is 0.2.1, report it
its still bugged when time warping
My game is updated to the most recent version and whether I use time warping or not starlab will pause. But it is good to know that I am experiencing a bug versus a bad game design. The joys of early access at play here it seems.
Have you installed Community Fixes mod? There’s an old fix in there that might interfere with the stock fix.
