This is what I do, (disclaimer, I have no idea if it is correct or not). Once AP = 70K+ main engine cut off and coast to AP. While coasting to AP, create a maneuver plan at AP and adjust the burn prograde side till PE = 70K+. If you still run out of fuel or do not have enough for the reentry burn then add another fuel tank to the stage.
Also on the SAS control click on the second from the left button for maneuver stability.
If you have about 3400 total deltaV in VAB, you should be able to reach orbit. If not reaching, then your gravity turn is too shalllow or too steep. I aim for reaching about 45 degrees by the time my rocket is around 15 km or so. The tutorial explains it a bit, but best to look for a video on youtube.
Yeah just slapped on another tank and altered the turn a bit
you should also feel it in the craft for example a craft at 100m/s at 2000 vs 500m/s should have a different gravity turn so altitude markers are good but watch that velocity and most importantly AP
Well now I have medium size parts finally I find doing anything with the small size ones especially getting a good payload in vacuum difficult with the terrier’s thrust
