My performance is through the floor since the last update. The game constantly freezes, such as when switching view modes or transitioning. I get 40 fps when the game is paused and 19 fps when unpaused, making me point the finger at the physics engine. Also my medium wings fall off when I hit 120 m/s. I don't see any spikes in GPU, CPU or memory usage (i7, 3070, 64GB)

I agree the latest patch was a downgrade in some ways
I also notice a lot of bugs from launch day like the orbit lines disappearing
Switching from VAB to Launch has gotten challenging. I only had one campaign that was still playa le with patch 2. The rest I started over. I'm guessing old saves can bring old bugs with them.
After updates if difficulties are experienced try clearing your shader cache to force it to reload them ... helps on occasion.
thanks. I'll give both a go.
Ditto, step backwards.
The only two things that affected me are the new KSC lights and the VAB floor bug
as well as all the new bugs
I Still havé issues, less often but they keep popping up when it’s not ideal. I can barely make it to orbit let alone plan a Mun mission :/
have you tried putting struts on the wings of your plane
This update has made things worse for performance to the point I kill the game and start a new mission. I've lost a ton of ships in the process.
There should be a basic rule - the UI for input should always take priority over any exploding crap in the background. Not being able to get back to the VAB because of the 5 seconds per frame thing is lame.
That’s not really how it works but ok
it could easily work that way. You can have separate threads that don't clobber each other. You could definitely have a UI thread for input separate from rendering all the silliness in the background.
there's no real good reason to render all the explosions and sacrificing the user wanting to revert or quit.
The entire frame needs to be rendered at once
And even if you have a separate thread for ui it’s not going to be able to display until the next frame renders
you could have an overlay which would act as a separate thread/ui etc which could still do things like VAB/Quit. The is not a novel problem to solve.
You don't see nvidia's overlay stuff lag because of frame rate.
uninstall reinstall, the game (should) have about 20 extra frames nw,
guys just lower your window pixel size to the 1660p one or around there. this makes trash pc run ksp at 30 fps
Agree. I went from 4k to 1440p and it's like a new game.
