I haven't seen anything about weather here or the dev diaries (at least not from memory) so I was thinking this could be interesting.
Having weather to plan around would be an interesting mechanic, such as a storm on Duna making solar panels less effective and the environment darker, maybe even wind. I just think it'd be interesting and add some extra challenge in planning long-term planetary missions, colonies, or probes/rovers. Plus landing in certain landing locations might not be accessible due to these storms and you'd have to plan around it. There could be ways to balance it to make the game both fun and more challenging instead of just annoying.
