#Ship keeps blowing up at 21.6km up after launch

I've tried changing vessels/modifying joint rigidity and nothing works, it seems really specific so I'm not too sure what to do in order to fix it? if anyone else has had this issue?

I feel like I'm opening all of my comments with the same caveat: "I saw this somewhere else but haven't had a chance to test it myself". Now that that's out of the way: My understanding is that this bug is somehow related to two physicsless parts being connected to one another somewhere in your rocket. So if you have a strut connected to a tiny truss somewhere, for example.

#

That's about the limit of my knowledge. I was watching a stream (can't recall which one unfortunately) yesterday where somebody was live-troubleshooting this issue, and eliminating all the little trusses from their build fixed it reliably and repeatedly

Found it:

I didn't watch the whole stream, so not sure whether he figured it out 100%, but I scrubbed to around the 2:45 mark in this VOD and he's right in the middle of investigating it

Oh! I see that might be it I had some struts connecting different structure parts so that might've caused the entire ship to collision with itself

ok so I've loooked a bit more into it and it looks like the game thinks I didn't even leave the launch pad

#

in the flight check pannel it shows the height of the rocket as highest altitude and time since launch is 0

That's interesting (and confusing). I'm the furthest thing from a programmer/developer, but there seem to be a lot of bugs related to the game not doing a good job of keeping track of what the origin of the world is (KSC teleporting to space, ships teleporting to EVA'ing kerbals, etc)....I wonder if this is another symptom of the same thing....like, from the game's perspective, half your ship never left the launchpad...and the seemingly arbitrary 21k altitude is some sort of transition point where the game checks itself for consistency, and it determines at that check that your ship is in two places at once and therefore explodes it?
