I bought KSP 2 and was excited to play it, and over an hour of waiting it finally started but it was incredibly slow and the next time I tried to play it, it wouldn't let me in. I'm not sure if it's my computer or me doing something wrong. I have a Lenovo Ideapad S340, is it underpowered for KSP 2?

Probably.
and keep in mind that mobile (laptop) versions of CPUs and GPUs are generally less powerful than the desktop version with the same name.

It's buggy and slow even on professional streamers' pcs. It'll be better after the first few updates. The devs asked the community if they wanted the game released as is to gather a ton more data and get the bugs fixed faster than would happen with in-house testing and there were overwhelming yes's.
