If you type an "m," the map mode is enabled, and if you turn it off, your camera is just stuck focused on the VAB. If you zoom in, the VAB is just hollow. Reverting to the VAB resets your ship to a previous one, too.

The same thing happens if you press m without the text field BTW.

This happened to me as well, but going back to KSC view and then into the VAB fixed it. Also when in the map view it focused on the vessel I flew the last.
