and keep in mind that q and e seemed to control the forward and backwards motion
at least for me
not sure but my advice would be to honestly learn the translation controls: HJKLNI
H/N - Fore/Aft
J/L - Translate Left/Right
I/K - Translate Down/Up
You will save a lot of time and still have access to your Pitch/Roll/Yaw controls rather than having to switch in and out of docking mode.
