get some mods or something, workshop is literally one button away

#

search for anything with a word "medical", there are a few dozen mods which change the way health works
specifically engine controls - don't remember anything like that, so fair, but at the same time I don't feel like it should be a mechanic in the first place
Improved repairs - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3114087512&searchtext=immersive or https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3109842167&searchtext=repair+overhaul

#

but in the first place - you can't just barge in and say "oh hey let's change the basic game mechanics because I say so", that's plainly disrespectful

#

some people like the current medical system, I'm not one of them, but I understand why they like it. Imagine if devs just said "we're changing the mechanic that was in the game for multiple years now, good luck!"

#

uh... yes? In this exact message? You phrased everything like it's a changelog, not just an idea. At least adding "Here's my ideas on how the game can be improved" at the start will make it seem less like demanding something and more like an idea

#

in what world is criticism called putting pressure
whatever, maybe I'm actually a bit too rough. Sorry if I went too far

#

yeah, not my greatest day. Sorry mate

Toggle Engine seems redundant, you can just done that with Relay and engine themselves already attract creatures.

Thrust Slider is already exist in game as "Manual Control".

Engine Wear can be done on each Submarine, each of them doesn't have the same attributes.

Hull repairs pretty much based on Mechanical Skill level, on game design it's like LvL 1 mechanical skill in Hydrothermal biome, it's more of a nuisance than challenge

Welding Fuel are not that easy to refill.

having complex UI is already a problem as the UI is already troublesome to do so.

#

you can simply use mods with that take.

to me it's not very vanilla-ish suggestion

#

same take as Neurotrauma about the medical realism, even for new players Medical is complicated at first.

#

realism won't make everything better as the game itself is not realistic already

I'm not really a fan of longer hull repairs. Feels like that train has sailed already, after many adjustments to Barotrauma's combat making it heavily action-focused. The way to get a more hardcore welding experience is to not run a smaller crew. Since that usually means you don't have enough people to outweld the incoming damage.

#

But I do like the idea of monitoring the engine's temperature.

#

Feels like it'd slot into the current piloting experience pretty naturally and it gives both the captain and the mechanic more to think about.
