The first thing I want to start with is that the events in the game were ordinary. For example, you found a thing with which you can interact, and here’s an event. And there are very few events that happen by chance.
And from all this, I thought that, why not theft also triggered an event, and not just a script that called the guards. Well, now I’ll list what would be very good to add.

1.If a person noticed the theft, then he could ask you for money so as not to pay attention to you, or simply not pay attention and quickly leave the place. It would also be very cool if the person who noticed that you were stealing something asked about cooperation and offered to complete the task at the station or when you set sail.

2.In a mission when transporting passengers, one of the people (for example from the Husk church) could ask to be allowed to leave the ship, as he would say that he hears something and it will command him. Other passengers also had similar experiences.

Well, I’ll end here, since my childish brain cannot come up with something grandiose. Which will change the world, heh.

These are my additions.
If you steal something minor having 80+ reputation in the outpost, with a 50/50 chance they will just let you go, or give you a minor task.
Or if, for example, you steal something not too expensive and not from husk/clown module, have good reputation with husk/clowns and bad reputation with outpost holders faction, those husks/clowns who noticed robbery will just ignore it, or with small chance give you a minor task in exchange, simply to not extradite their faction friends.
