Assuming the devs add hunger as a feature, I have some ideas that would blend perfectly with it. Items would need to be added to flesh out the roles like more plant options and a functional distiller, but I feel that it'd add an interesting dynamic by adding a secondary support role that would be 100% lore friendly.
Botanist: Improve plant yields, splice plants for greater effects, etc.
Chef: Harvest flesh from creatures, cook food items to eliminate psychosis effect from raw flesh, more temporary stat bonuses, etc.
Brewer: brew different types of alcohol, improve crew morale, more temporary stat bonuses.
