#Switch submarine and sell the old one.

you can hire more crew to crew those submarines and create a submarine corporation empire.
you cant though but its a nice thought.
That would be cool
Metal gear solid peace walker allowed you to send out your soldiers and vehicles on missions and it would use statistics to determine if they win lose and what you get
Would be cool if we could assign npcs to subs and give them a budget which improves success rate
This way we don’t need to worry about stocking the sub with fuel, ammo and other stuff
Then when it’s finished you get the npcs back and they might be injured and stuff or some die or worse if the sub is lost you lose all of them and get an insurance payout for the lost sub
I don't think we need that extra money, considering the base game's balance, but being able to freely switch between submarines you own also makes no sense. Who's delivering that submarine to us, which we switched away from four map nodes ago?
it followed the main sub slightly behind and out of view
like a puppy that wants to say hi but is also too scared to be seen
The coalition is delivering submarines.
The ability to switch back subs is because in theory you can switch between them for whats most optimal at the time
In reality though moving everything is too cumbersome
I know mods arent a replacement for core feature suggestions, but just in case you fancied this in your campaign rn - https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3291935932 there's a mod
I think upgrade prices could go up to balance. There's no point in the current game maintaining a 'fleet'.
I feel the ability to sell submarines is simply just a bandaid to the game needing more biome variety and differentiation
let's go harder on the "We can use this submarine over the other" for this situation
Fundamentally fucked in campaign due to how the inventory system of this game works
Nobody wants to spring clean constantly
Hmm I suppose
Maybe in the far future contextual commands will let us override the sub builder's pre-defined storages
I know AI bots can do clean up but 90% of the time, but actually asking for feedback on where stuff ought to be goes absolutely nowhere when testing custom subs
I reckon until we can properly tell bots where stuff ought to go according to (my) preferences it'll always be a problem
I dont think its ever gonna happen
I think the only way this works is if the game u-turns the inventory system to a much more limited one
As right now you can just place anything anywhere
And that bites you in the ass with sub switching
I feel you might be exaggerating a bit, you can comms where stuff ought to be and everyone actively contributing small amounts to keeping stuff organized
but yeah sub switching would be a big thing to consider
hmm since we have the mechanic on outposts see an overview and highlight where turrets, batteries, hulls, pumps are
what if we had a seperate screen for lockers and cabinets instead?
and could drag and drop items when we change subs to each inventory space
Not even sure if the base code can do anything like that
but I've been surprised with the shit mods get away with ... so maybe?
Its possible but even that is a lot of setup I feel
It would speed up spring cleaning
but spring cleaning would still be a thing
and thats the problem
spring cleaning is fine if sub switching lets you already place stuff about
it's just an inherent mechanic with the mass items that the game has rn
Might make transport subs with lots of crate item storage more attractive idk
would be nice if you could switch storage cab tags in-game (pre-defined ones or create custom ones with set items)
Lua?
Needs C# which is now bundled with Lua for Barotrauma
Honestly this would go hard as fuck
Having a menu to be able to select where you want things moved instead of everything being dropped in a bunch of fucking crates in the stowage would be very very very helpful
Personally I avoid switching subs because of how big of a pain in the ass it is
I don’t see why it couldn’t be done
It seems pretty simple
Though I know absolutely nothing about xml so
Boss we ran out of GMP
I would love an option to also remove all components from old subs. I play Engineer and spend ages removing everything!
