All they do right now is help expand settlements it would be nice if they had another used like tagging enemies or adding additional mission slots in the beacon path would make beacons more worth it.

The Station Engineer talent should give you some kind of bonus in passageways that are in range of an active beacon.

Other than that, I think beacons are very much worth it. Mostly because it's a side mission that is not hard to do and pays well.

Oh. I think I'm starting to understand. You mean that the bonus would be revealing creatures early. No. That's not what I had in mind.

I was thinking of a passive bonus which'd affect the engineer with that talent, like faster repair speed or skill gain. Whatever works, to make this talent not completely useless.
