I tried to make a different lighting scheme in the submarine as opposed to the default or orange/yellow color, and so I tried to go for a purple/pink, but before I realized how jarringly bright & bad the purple looked, I already changed half of the submarine. I then changed it to the classic orange/yellow

The junction boxes realistically would’ve set alight again had we restarted, but I wanted to explore why bananaman was in perma “dead” mode whilst not being dead. The corpse disposal was certainly a misplay although I recall asking if we’d retrieve the bodies but I don’t remember why we didn’t end up doing so. We can get your stuff back next session though, we’re coming up at a separatist outpost so we can buy back whatever was lost
Though thinking about it, I’m curious as to whether the issue was down to just desync or related to the server loading the game first, killing the player, and then the player loading in, or perhaps the player loading in just before they die? It would’ve been difficult to test that though
when i was testing the "enemies attacking at round start" by myself on the save i noticed sometimes the junctions wouldnt catch fire and sometimes they would after restarts
isnt it just a random chance whenever a junction box is overloading
it shouldn’t be if we’re at the start, there’s no load or output to cause overloading
since we start in maintain position
also this makes me wonder if it would be possible for the game to exclude a spawnpoint if the room it is in has high pressure or is on fire (the fire would probably start after the player spawns in but could still help prevent people spawning in fire sometimes)

I’ll see if there’s an issue on the GitHub relating to this. I don’t think it’s fair for crisis events to start immediately, such as fires. Having a delay would help prevent this so players can actually respond to fires and flooding

This isn’t a new issue. We had this in season 2 iirc. I asked for a delay and Regalis changed how the one mission worked specifically. Now more shit could benefit from a delay, it feels like the problem was just kicked down the road. We’ll see though

no fires within the first 15-45 seconds would be better imo
they did make it so your sub doesn't take any crush depth damage within the first minute
so it would be reasonable to extend this grace period to other systems
btw why does the campaign have respawns inside the sub and not on a shuttle
there were surprisingly little accidents with that on the session (like 2 people total spawned in pressurised rooms iirc) but in most of my experience that respawning method lead to disaster 90% of the time

One thing that's interesting is that I'm actually making use of fentanyl now
Like, in terms of healing per unit of opium, in unstable opium is 25, morphine is 20, and fentanyl is 75.
In stable it's 20/25/37.5, but since meds are quite a bit stronger you didn't really every get low enough on rresources to warrant using fent
In yesterday's session, during that streak of abandoned outposts we had single digits of opium left, which was extremely stressful. I was scared of using fentanyl early in the campaign because it would have fucked us over from overdose, but now that we have some talents to increase max vitality, I can safely use it without killing people
when that outpost trashcan fentanyl hits
my load times have been very slow, if that helps
i’ve loaded in under immediate threat (injured from spinelings or with the junction room half underwater) a couple times
there was one round where i was checking to see if suits were sabotaged at round end
spawned into the next round in a nearly pressurized room still wearing my suit
don’t think i would have died without that suit but it would’ve been sketchy

Basically 20 Opium addiction (which you can get from anything, especially when you aren't medic) gives you 1 Opium withdrawal each 7 seconds.
More likely you will get 40 addiction => 1 withdrawal per 4 sec.
Both addiction and withdrawal dissipates by 1 per 20 or 10 sec depending how bad it is. (20 will dissipate in 400 sec)
20 Opiate withdrawal (you will get it in 200 sec from 20 addiction or in 100 sec from 40 addiction) gives you 1 Nausea every 2 seconds.
3 nausea per 1 sec if your withdrawal is 40 or higher.
Nausea, if I'm reading it right, stuns you every 14+-2 seconds and deals 0.5 organ damage.

Im not sure why you saying "suck even more" cause I cant remember this game actually sucking. More like inb medicine was a joke and there was no need for anything stronger than morphine. While now in test build its game of lesser evil, which coupling with high difficulty and improvement which enables big enemies to deal splash damage through hulls, makes things... somewhat crappy. Also it is possible that we are playing with damage nultiplier / vitality penalty.

Basically, opium is pretty good in general. Its decently fast and is more materially efficient than morphine. Morphine is pretty useless, though it has some use in that has nearly the same addiction/overdose as opium but heals 1.6x more than a single dose of opium. Its useful for characters with low max vit that will die of overdose from opium i guess. Fentanyl is the fastest and most efficient healing item but the overdose/withdrawal is rather dangerous. Mostly useful for people with higher maximum vit so they dont just die of OD. Pomegrenade is about 1/3 of an opium but it has no lasting consequences making it pretty good for healing non-critical injuries without major resource expenditure.
Combat stims is good as always but is rather expensive

The abyssal preset lowering the maximum vit makes the healing less effective and the addiction/overdose more effective so that plays a part too
