Born in 1877, Hungary, Béla Kiss seemed to be a good guy, chatting with his neighbors a lot, owned his own Tinsmith business, and had two kids from two divorces. But in 1914 ww1 breaks out and Béla is called up to fight. While he is away, Béla land lord wants to do renovations to his house but needed materials. He finds 7 barrels that were airtight and sealed with lead next to Béla’s workshop. When the land lord opens one of the barrels, he finds a women’s corpse submerged in alcohol. He opens a second one and finds another woman’s corpse. He calls the police and the police find that all of the barrels had a corpse and found more in Kisses house. In total 23 bodies, 22 women, 1 man all killed by strangulation. The police quickly notified the military and in 1916 the police were told that Kiss was in a Serbian hospital but by the time they arrived Bélla Kiss was gone with another soldiers corpse in his bed. Kiss was never caught and the number of his victims is unknown.
