This is a story about a Ukrainian orphan named Natalia Grace, who was adopted by an American couple, Kristine and Michael Barnett, in 2010. They thought she was six years old, but soon they started to suspect that she was much older, maybe even in her 20s. They claimed that she had pubic hair, menstrual cycles, and spoke English without an accent. They also said that she threatened to kill them and tried to poison Kristine. They took her to a doctor, who confirmed that she was an adult. They then moved to Canada, leaving Natalia alone in an apartment. They were charged with neglect, but they said they were the victims of a scam. Natalia denied their accusations and said she was really 16. She now lives with another family who believes her. This is one of the most bizarre and controversial adoption cases ever. Who is telling the truth? And how old is Natalia Grace really? There is an amazing documentary series called "The Curious Case of Natalia Grace" and Season 1 is available. It has 6 episodes and its from the parents and others involved with this story. Coming in Season 2 will be Natalia's side of the story. Its remarkably well done and has so many twists and turns. Its crazy. Discovery+ is where you can see it.
