So this happen in December of 2022, a few months ago. I go on trips all alone a lot and I decided to take a last minute trip to Vegas then drive to Sedona, AZ. I’ve been to many hotels for work and travel, in old ones in Europe, and I’m alone 95% of the time.

I was looking for deals in Vegas for a night or two before taking off for my Arizona drive. I found a great deal for Mandalay Bay for only $54 a night! Mandalay Bay is really nice, I’ve stayed there before maybe like 10 years ago. The first thought that came to my mind was that this is where that shooting happen in 2017, but I brushed it off. I’m sure I’ve stayed in some hotels that had a dark past many times.

When I arrive at the hotel, the first thing I noticed is that it feels really different than the last time I was there. For example, as I was walking down the long hallway to my room, it felt as if the walls were closing in on me. It was like the air was really heavy or restricted. It was congested even though I was the only one in the oddly dimly lit hallway. I chalked it up to me being jet lagged.

I just wanted to shower after being on the plane. The tv didn’t work and the phone didn’t work, but I was so tired I just showered and passed out.

I use a sleep cycle app to record any sleep talking I do in my sleep since I have a weird sleep disorder. I try to keep track of my movements.

At around 4:00-4:30am I wake up because I feel someone in my room looking at me.
