Hi there! I'm the developer of TimeFinder, and I've wanted to use shorebird for a long time--I [shared my first attempt](#🎨│show-off-your-work message) at trying it back in 2024. Back then, it was making my sliver lists unusable, so I couldn't use it at all.
But fast-forward to today, and I was delighted to see that functionally, it works--patched builds are fully functional on iOS --but performance takes a significant hit when patched, even on my iPhone Air with patched release builds. The general UI lag is manageable in my own manual testing, but for production users and significant data processing (plugin calls), users have reported that the patched app is completely unusable.
Shorebird remains something that would be absolutely invaluable for me, especially with App Review times for my app pushing into 5+ days thanks to the AI-driven app boom, so I'd love to know if I might be able to provide any information that could help you guys improve this situation.
I'm gathering some debug logs now. Aside from that, some info I could share about the project and the compilation:
- I was seeing ~75% link percentage, and the shorebird tooling flagged that as "bad, and you should contact us"—so here I am.
- My app has over 100k lines of code excluding codegen, and many native plugin integrations
Let me know if this is something that you guys can help investigate or if it's outside your priorities at the moment. Regardless, thank you for all you do!
