if sdk 2013 dedicated server supports sourcemod there might be a plugin to make them work

we would only need them if the server had checksums for dlls and wouldn't let us connect, but it seems like sdk 2013 doesn't do this
even with sv_pure it seems to work
ah there is no tf_bot cmnd in the 2007 version, the single bot command is for puppet bots that do nothing

I was running it with Remix
menu has vertex explosions, usual zero size vertex crash, code gen for that was pretty different and there was little to no space to put a patch in, and even with patch 2fort was still just vertex explosions
oh and it loads d3d9.dll from where the .exe is and not the bin\x64 folder
every gmod server i join has massive fucking vertex explosions

I wonder why I've never had to use them for any source game including gmod, I only needed the 2 patches to shaderapidx9 to stop it from crashing on menu and maps
odd, its been in the gmod pinned guide for a while and the tf2 port crashes on most maps without it

you can reproduct the crash in gmod by firing a rpg or grenade in a map that works

I'm trying to get this to work but RTX Remix just won't hook no matter what. I followed the guide from Github. Anyone seeing anything missing at first glance? Dxlevel 70 or 90 just boots normally, without RTX Remix every time, even though the files are in there
remix.bat rtx.conf dxvk.conf should be where hl2 exe is
Got it working by placing the RTX Remix files into bin, although the hl2.exe sits in the root folder.

For dustbowl to work you need to freshly open the game and then join dustbowl, if you joined any other map and then joined dustbowl it will cause that for some reason

@restive jasper Did you copy over the stdshader files to modern TF2 as well? I noticed that it won't work if I do that. Maybe that's the cause of your issues?
I see. There is a bunch of other weird stuff going on as well, but all that matters is that the RT side works correctly which it mostly does. It's pretty incredible how well it all works considering this is the first time running with RTX Remix

for most maps it stops the backface culling but for some it just eats random walls

If you look in the portal_rtx\cfg\autoexec.cfg you can see the list of cvars they set for remix, note not all of them exist in other source games and were custom added for portal rtx

for the water, use the 2 files popo linked earlier, might not work for every map since it was made for the tf port
as for the eyes, probably not.
unless you want to manually add them to the eye texture, but then they won't move lol

One of the water textures in the files I linked don't have a normal, so the water flickers, I think that water texture name starts with CA
So I have to set the normal to 0 for all the water textures so it looks normal
should be relatively easy to fix, just need to update all water vmt's to point to the cheap water texture

u need to join nuclues first via training then after that u can join any map and non secure servers
are starting tf2 from steam?

ok i tried again and it connected but crashed on loading nucleus
open terminal in tf2 directory and paste that there

i messed up something the other night when publishing the modern tf2 guide, make sure remix is installed to /steamapps/Team Fortress 2/bin instead of /steamapps/Team Fortress 2/
also try using this rtx.conf
it has a few fixes for the UI
pushed it to github as well
also i would try removing anything in the custom folder (huds, model replacements, etc)

i just tried popo's launch options, no difference from mine, the new rtx.conf should fix it
btw the UI itself will flicker still as its a known source/remix bug, but you shouldnt get any blinding flashes anymore lol
if there are, let me know where and how they happen, i can try to fix it

iirc viaduct is broken because of some fixed function fallback bug

not really
the lack of culling is what kills the fps but its required for it to render correctly
the only way to get better perf is getting a stronger cpu/gpu
you can try increasing the DLSS to ultra perf but if it does nothing, you're running into a CPU bottleneck
with pathtracing its definitely easy to get bottlenecked with both parts lol
whats the gpu tho

though with a 7800x3d you should have a pretty high average fps lol, my i7 1270P isnt terribly fast in comparison
