I re opened it as admin again and it still throws that error

it might also be worth trying it outside the steam directory, so try moving the launcher to a folder at the root of your E drive, like E:\gmodrtx

when they are marked as UI, they are sent straight to DXVK and arent touched by the main rendering pipeline of remix
which is why UI looks so broken in HDR
i might end up just making a UI composite pass, something i can at least modify without breaking everything else

what'd be the things it does worse? id' guess the noisy api lights
i think the noisy api lights is something im doing wrong or just a bug with remix, as i think its just literally re-creating the light every frame, so there is no caching at all in the denoiser.
- displacements look wrong, there is no blending between two textures, so its a hard falloff
- the 2d skybox renderer has some skewing issues depending on the camera angle, its not too noticable but i'd rather fix it before pushing a release
- sitll no perfect anti-culling methods for dynamic entities like NPCs, doors, etc. my best solution is rendering an offline camera that has a extremely wide FOV and distance so it encapsulates the whole map. it works, but for maps that are mostly indoors, it fails a lot more due to it being stuck in a wall, but might be fixable if the lua api has some depth flags
i'd say overall its a hell of a lot better than it was a few months ago
but not something i'd recommend over normal gmod rtx
yeah, and the fps fix with the culling is absolutely key for playable fps
at least on some maps

ok i think i fixed it, i have modified remix a bit to make API lights more stable on x64 and i messed up how it tracks API lights across frames, looks like its workign now

Yes it's toolkit replaced, and it's the only replacement that DOES crash my game. I was having issues with other replacements in the past but I chop me changing it to DX7 to be the fix for that. Translucent materials have constantly caused me to crash regardless of initial renderer.
i wouldnt recommend keeping the game on dx7, not that it actually makes a difference to remix (or rather shouldnt, we force FF rendering by disabling the shadermodel via dxvk.conf).

yeah then its most likely a nvidia driver bug, since it only happens when you get close, my best guess is texture streaming.
Before loading the map, try disabling sampler feedback

Also having a tad unrelated issue with settings not wanting to be saved to the file. Its kinda hit or miss when things do but particularly tagged materials don't save to the file. The file itself isn't read only so I'm also kinda lost there but thats the main issue resolved! 
what kind of materials arent saving? there are a few known textures in gmod that change their texture hash per map load

decals shouldnt have issues, the known ones are like 3 particle textures, the physgun beam, the gravity gun grab arcs, and the manhack light
can you verify the hash changes per map load? when you click the texture in the runtime, it displays the hash at the top
Actually now that you point that out those as well. I forgot about those cause I don't mark them much bet lemme give that a test because that's also conviently an issue in this map as well.
Seems my game is done giving me grief about that as well. All textures other than the phsygun remain marked properly now. I appreciate the help!

having direct control over geometry rendering allows precise, remix-friendly culling, and also stable geometry hashes
none of this is going into the main gmod rtx project, its all for my performance fork since it will introduce a lot of breaking changes for existing remix mods
there is already a lot of maps that were previously unplayable due to overwhelming entity counts that are now playable due to PVS culling
most of everything you need is in dxvk_imgui.cpp
so, i want one variable from the slang file to be changed in imgui. how can this be done?
so that it takes the given variable from that file and changes it on the fly
not too sure, you should try to find other settings that affect the values in slang files and see how they do it

M3 Facility looks great when you set light radius to 1
The default value is too blurry and loses some of the detailed lighting the map had without Remix
Left = Running normally without Remix
Right = Remix but with default radius value (9.0)
so, lowering weight of seed makes the quality better?

i dont personally use it due to missing features i have in cursor but its more than enough for starting out

nah map lights no longer have the issue, its still going to look a bit noisy due to me being a AMD user with no RR

the noise heavily depends on the input resolution

looks like the runtime would return early for trying to load rtxio replacements if it loaded a normal mod first

we symlink everything from hl2rtx except the root level usda files so the launcher can replace them with the fixed ones, so the original game never gets touched ๐ฅ
yep hl2rtx mounting is absolutely perfect now
all that is needed to mount hl2rtx is updating to the new runtime and mounting hl2rtx with the new launcher and applying the USDA fixes

yall might encounter some glowing objects, these were marked with legacy emissive so just uncheck that and it will fix it
ill need to update the runtime to disable it when it detects replaced assets or something to make it automatic
