remix will just use the vram it has available to it
it doesnt use 80% out of the bat, it only holds onto resources for as long as the game requires to
any addons that precache textures like arc9 will eat vram very quickly and you will run out doing stuff after that

should make the launcher install niknaks from git
aswell as copy the stdshader dlls from portal rtx or hl2 rtx if available
is that permissible with niknak's license? they explicity say the addon cannot be reuploaded anywhere but idk if cloning via git counts
also we would have to worry about conflicts from the workshop version for other addons that use it

my main gmod install should be fine since i recently wiped my entire pc

they might not work btw, we switched to a old hash system to maintain compatility with old remix mods and hl2rtx
you can enable the old hash system but it will break everything else in the compat mod's release config
maybe just copy your rtx.conf from your previous install

you might be able to get yours working, the fixes were modifying VMT and pcf files to use a different sprite system basically
also for the hashes stuff, you can go back and forth between hash systems by modifying rtx.useObsoleteHashOnTextureUpload = True in rtx.conf

false = new hashes
have you figured out why the sprite system vfire uses doesent work with remix?

its more than vfire, anything using $spritecard without a FF fallback will not render at all, even outside of remix
its just a engine limitation when rendering in fixed function

the only 2 issues is that some maps hide the 3dsky weirdly and it can show from the main map
the other is clipping when the 3dsky and the main world intersect (but this is a remix itssue)
you can see the 2nd issue on gm_construct
but its very rare
some maps have the skybox above them and you can see the small version from the map

Nah omniverse is it's own app / launcher which is more or less not needed as Remix is on the NVIDIA app now, but like you said earlier it's probably best to build from the github until they push the recent toolkit fixes to the app version

u can try the anti culling option in remix though, i used it on a map and it was wrking but the non culled shadows got abit noisy and u do lose fps
i think its best to avoid using remix's anti-culling wherever possible

the launcher's install tab doesn't show the installed settings, only the default
i know that cuz the binary patches keep on resetting to blueAmulet despite me installing sambow
only quick install defaults to my repo when it detects x64. the install tab leaves it up to the user to choose what they want
i absolutely do not recommend using the install tab on a clean install, quick install is what's supposed to be used
also to update to a new release, select 0.6.7 and press install
still, this is what i left on, but well, i suppose here i go re-installing again

just press the install button with 0.6.7 selected as in your pic
if that doesnt work i guess try a reinstall using quick install

i think x32 defaults to the 1.0.0 release from nvidia
the modified remix for x64 with the brightness slider should also work on x32

but fr, you should be manually downloading the latest artifact of dxvk-remix from github and just manually replacing the files for x32

x64 works alright but its missing a few patches and uses some wonky workarounds. x32 is preferred

very different
x32 has culling patches which degrade performance but gives consistent visuals. x64 uses a few lua addons to attempt the same thing. while x64 is marginally faster, there is more visual issues compared to x32
alright. i also got another question, i used Skurtyy's installer for my gmod, if i use the new rtx remix fixes 2 installer, do i just drag and drop my rtx.conf into the new install and all my textures and stuff that i modified to work still work?
you can, but we have migrated to a old hash system and a rtx.conf based on hl2rtx. I don't know what issues you may run into using your own, but feel free to try it out.

his deploys a fully contained archive with all the required files iirc. Ours selectively downloads certain components so its easier to maintain. it also can mount hl2rtx and some other misc stuff
