some maps put the light_environment in weird places that causes it to be culled
there is a few ways to handle this, but it might not fix it
in which tab was it?

you can try adjusting these 2 values to a higher level and see if it prevents culling
it might work, it might kill performance, and it might not work
if this doesnt work, you can use HDRI skyboxes instead

just wanted to look at how you're managing this. i'd like to make a pretty simple GUI at some point that lets you manage Remix installations across games, including identifying the current build installed
it's just C# windows forms, so its not very cross platform

ok for anyone wanting to make an install package / fixes package
make a git repository and contact me to get it in the list, and make releases that end with -launcher.zip (if all your zips are launcher compatible, tell me i'll add your repo to the exception list)
create a zip in which the root of the zip is files you want extracted over the root of the install
you can do thing like have a file in the root named .launcherignore, formatted like a gitignore to ignore files you dont want the launcher to have.
here's the default hardcoded .launcherignore, its always active.

for anyone wanting to have custom patches listed.
you just need a github repository and a file of any kind (txt, py) somewhere in it containing the patches
I made it so its able to parse the python definitions in blueamulet's applypatch.py
so you just need 2 tables ( patches32 = {} and patches64 = {} ) in the same format that blueamulet's python script accepts.

you can use the Update Install function to copy the unpatched dlls back in to patch again if you want

So all it is is just copying over the gmod files from ur vanilla install into ur gmod rtx folder

What if I changed the gmod rtx to be very specific inside the gmod folder, like with a unique list of settings and addons enabled, would that just reset back to what it was like in the vanilla install

Btw, with the launcher you can easily create a fully functional 32bit install right now, just make sure you use Xenthio/RTXFixes instead of Xenthio/gmod-rtx-fixes-2
The final file size of my working install was under a gigabyte

it does wrk for me but some parts of the map cause big stutters
I get this error when launching the game.
it runs ok for me but it does stutter a lil bit, this is most likey due to fvf not handling large entity counts well.
I'm working on addressing this with a more async solution

I made a new folder and used the "Create RTX Install Here", then installed remix 1.0.0, then applied the "Xenthio/SourceRTXTweaks" patch and then the fiexes package "RTXFixes v1.2 [Launcher]". Are there steps that I'm missing?

i havent dabbled too much with the launcher or x32 myself, but it sounds like one of the game dlls isnt properly getting patched
either materialsystem.dll or shaderapidx9.dll
It seems that it's the materialsystem.dll.
Ok, so when using the BlueAmulet patch, that does replace the materialsystem.dll, but the Xenthio one doesn't.

What was the point moving to new hashes system, if we already had many rtx mods
because we thought hl2rtx and other games would move to it, but they did not
there are more old hash mods than new hash as well, if you still want to use the new hashes with future updates, copy the rtx.conf from a older release
i would do an entirely new install with the launcher, manual install is not supported anymore

the gmod one has specific fixes for x64, the normal runtime will not work
its set to default as x32 works with the normal one most likely
the one selected is the right one
i think it defaults to the newest which is always preferrable

He was very helpful in giving me some tips on finding the culling stuff in SiN Epsiodes (also a very old source engine build) Not sure if he wants to get his feet wet with Gmod but he's definitely a wealth of knowledge when it comes to REing parts of the engine

i did add checks for all files that would interfere
so it should work fine on x32
the binary module should load win32 automatically

and then the other way around with, fvf, mwr, cdr, and old lightupdater
